Sometimes You Don't See The Other Side ~A Riku Story

Chapter 1.Friends





'Sometimes I wonder if this life is worth it.
Like,if anything I'm doing is going to actually pay off.

Wondering,if I will ever make a name for myself and stand out.
To be the best,because that is the most important thing to be right?

Maybe,if I actually put my mind to it I could actually be unique and special.
To have my own heart and to travel the worlds,meeting new people and being myself.

But,I keep wondering if all I'll ever do is sit on this tree and think.
As I am now.
Sitting,thinking.Nothing happens around me and I don't make anything happen.'

"Riku...?" The voice seemed distant,but he could understand.

He slowed opened his eyes to see a blurry Kairi looking down on him.

"Hello,Kairi."

"You know you're supposed to be working on the raft,right?!"
She sounded impatient and angry.

"Kairi,calm down."

"I can't be calm when there is so much to do around here!"

"Kairi,just listen."


"No,you listen!I want all of you to actually do something around here instead of sitting around!"
She was yelling now, despite the quite disposition of the island.

"Hmm..."

"Now,I'm going to go wake up Sora.By the time I go down I expect you to be gathering logs."

"Fine,okay."

She walked away,stomping her feet as she went.

"I shouldn't have never told her about this,she is acting so weird because of this whole going to other world thing.I guess it's not worth getting into a fight over."

He gathered the logs and sat down on the tree again.The bark up rubbed against his pants.

'I don't know why everyone is suddenly out to get me.
It doesn't even matter when we get done with the raft,why is she rushing me?
It's probably so she can leave this place faster,after all,she doesn't like Selphie,Tidus and Wakka.
I am probably on that list now too.'

"If only she could actually see me for who I am...She is too in love with Sora to notice." He mumbled.

He suddenly got up and walked across the bridge.The bridge creaked under his feet.
The water moved under the bridge.
He could feel it's cold sensation without touching it.

"Some best friends they are,don't even care about me."

"Kairi,are you sure it's Riku?"
Sora said flipping his shoes over dumping the sand out of them.
The grains of sand slowly fell out,so he shook them.

"Positive,he thinks he's some misunderstood soul or something."
She sighed.

"He doesn't show any emotion?"
Sora questioned.

"No,he just doesn't care about anything.Oh well, at least I'll always have you."

She hugged him goodbye,and went to the dock to go home on her boat.
The boat rocked with the waves waiting for her.

"I should have never agreed to this."

Chapter 2: Mysteries



'As I am deep in thought I often realize more about myself.
For example, how I often consider running away from it all because I can't face the world. Although, I try to hide it and make it look like I'm fine.

I never thought that my friends would ever make me feel the way I do now.

I am upset,tired and stressed.It hurts to know that I actually don't have anyone that wants me around.
To know that the only person that could possibly help me is just falling for the girl that hates me.'

Riku sat up in bed and looked around the room.

"Must be insomnia." He yawned and stretched.

He closed he eyes and tried to focus on sleep instead of his friends.

'I don't understand why everyone is turning against me.It just doesn't make any sense.'

When he opened his eyes it was morning.
A chilly breeze filling his room.
He struggled to pull up his blankets for warmth.

The sky outside was pink and the clouds moving.

'I wonder why I never noticed how beautiful this place is.
It's a mystery,how people don't seem to notice the little things in life they take for granted.'

 

I liked the plot mostly, but have you used Grammar and Spell Check?
I see you don't but a space between your sentences.
It would be useful to do that.

But it seems good. :]

There were some grammar issues. But you should use spaces between commas.
May I suggest semi-colon's? To many comma's look sloppy.
A little more description on emotion, it seems kinda dull to me.

Chapter 3:Issues

'Sometimes I wonder if it's just me,and everyone else doesn't seem to notice anything.Like,how many people often to talk about me when I'm near and how often they do so.

I also wonder how the people I actually call "friends" can sit back and watch.
Who knows?Maybe this was ment to be after all.'

Riku shifted, sitting on the sand as the calm tide washed against his feet.
The water was cool,which gave him a slight chill.

His eyes focused on Kairi as she walked around,finishing the raft.
She was probably going to come over and yell at him to help again.
She always does that.

But, this time she didn't.She kept to herself and didn't even look at him.
It was like he was invisible.Maybe she was so mad at him she couldn't take it.
Or...Maybe it was nothing.She is just busy that's all.

That night Riku sat on the unsteady wood planks of the island.
He saw Kairi and Sora walk up to the dock and sit down.
The waves settled down and met the sky in a perfect horizontal line of pink and orange.
Too perfect.

He struggled to find a spot where not only they couldn't see or hear him,but he could see and hear them perfectly.
When he found it, he waited for them to speak;keeping quiet.

"Sora,I've been thinking." Kairi sounded a bit worn out.

"Yes?"

"Do you think that we could go to different worlds,just the two of us?"
She almost screamed as if proud of this thought.

Riku stared steadily.So many questions were running through his head:
How?Why?When?What?

She opened her mouth to speak again,this time closing her eyes and thinking.
"He changed Sora."

Sora half chuckled.
"I think you're the one that's changed Kairi."

This suprised her.She stood up,looking down at him.
She opened her mouth to speak again but no words came out.

"Well?"
Sora asked.

"You're probably right."
But her face didn't match her words.
She was just agreeing with him because she loved him.

Riku turned away as they said their goodbyes.
'What's her issue with me?'
But he was afraid that there would never be an answer.

 

I get the feeling something bad's gonna happen. xD

You should use spaces between commas and periods.

A few grammatical and spelling mistakes but those could just be typos.

Chapter 4:Annoyance

'You know, how confusing some people get? It gets so tiring after awhile.
I mean, who'd have known Kairi would say something like that or act like that?
It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Sometimes I wonder if it's me being too innocent that bothers them completely.'

Riku sat on the bridge while the night sky started to become clouded overrhead. The black clouds looked angry and started thundering to prove it.
Soon it was raining hard;pouring down on him,and the island.

'Who even cares about the raft. I should just destroy it before anyone gets to it tomorrow morning. It's not like the other worlds are going to be life changing anyway... Or they might be... They might make me actually learn who I am, since I haven't actually decided who I am or who I want to be at this moment in time.'

He got up and looked toward the raft. It was tied to the beach by ropes on the dock; it looked like it was about to break away anyway. The rope was obviously not strong enough for the raft being pulled by the tides and away from the dock.

As he approached it, his feet started to get shaky,and his head aching.
He started thinking quickly again,thoughts running through his mind,trying to determine the outcomes of his choices.

'Was this really the right thing to do though,was it honestly the best thing for them? Maybe he should just seperate from them when they get to anyother world...BUT, they're probably going to leave him alone anyway.
They are probably going to disappear and leave him to fend for himself...In that case. Every man for himself. I'm going to destroy this...Now'

He grabbed a hold of the rope in his mouth to help untie it.
The knot was so tight,obviously the person who tied it didn't want anyone to steal or destroy it.
When the raft was finally loose from the dock; Riku pushed it further in the water,watching as the rough tides tore apart the weak wood structure that they were actually going to use to sail.

Now the only thing he could do is wait.
Wait for some sort of change.

Anyways, contuineeee, I like the jealous Riku has between Sora and Kairi.
I get the feeling something bad's gonna happen.

Oh wow I love the description that you had when you said that the rain started to pour down on Riku which made him more angry and jealous. Great chapter, can't wait for the next!
