Something strange I found in the Death Note Manga

Well, I was at a bookstore the other day and I saw they had the Death Note Manga. I picked up the last volume and flipped through it. That's when I found something strange. When Ryuk's writing Light's name in his Death Note, he tells Light that it's over. He also tells Light that if he didn't die now he'd go to jail. But what's strange is he tells Light that if he goes to jail then who knows how long it'll take him to die. Isn't that strange, since Ryuk is a shinigami and can see Light's lifespan?

 

Not really.

I mean I think Ryuk was just bored with him already and was ready for him to die so he tried to make him feel like his only option was to die. I mean to Ryuk it didn't matter if he went to jail or died, his interest with him stopped after he accidentally revealed he was Kira.

Besides, it'd take like ages because of the legal system and stuff. Ryuk just wanted to speed up the inevitable ending of the god-complex Yagami Light.

 

Not sure. I think Ryuk's just saying he's too impatient to wait for Light to die and that it would be boring

It is mentioned that using the Death Note might change the lifespan of the user and those close to them... but I don't think that has anything to do with this. Ryuk would probably still be able to see it. I think he's pretty much saying he won't wait for Light to die in jail.​
