Kingdom Hearts II So, what happens now?

This is a thought that i've had for a while now. Now that Kingdom Hearts II is over, Nomura says that the next KH related game is not part of the regular series. If it was, it would be called Kingdom Hearts III. Nomura has stated on many occasions that there WILL NOT be a "III" in the title. So what happens now? Even though he said Sora's journey is not over, could it be over for anyone else? Like Donald and Goofy. I dont know about you, but i dont think it would be kh without them. And all the worlds. Will the next game have a gummi ship? Or will you be able to go to other worlds at all? I think Nomura should stick to the regular formula we all know and love. It's definatly working. What i want to know is is it possible to make changes so that the next game wouldn't be the same as the regular series, but keep enough of it to be able to call it Kingdom Hearts? And the knights and the new villains. How will they play that much of a significant role without being the main characters? Just wondering what everyone else thinks.

 

It works if you consider the next KH game a spin-off--but a really good one.

It's a new series, but still has to do with Kingdom Hearts. A new story with new characters, that may be related to Sora in the sense that some themes and some ideas may overlap from what we've seen in the previous KH games.

I personally don't mind the next game deviating away from Sora's Story--as long as Nomura has the intention of continuing Sora's Story in the future.

I think it will be good to see how the spin off goes, I really am just looking forward to see how the game comes out and ties into everything in kindom hearts.

 

well i dont mean exactly the same, but not like radically different. you guys have good points.

 

I think the next game will be part of a new series which takes place mainly in the past. Not really sure how they will handel the worlds though, I guess they could use older disney movies, or could try to recreate prequal verisons of disney worlds. To me, this is the hardest part of them making a prequal or events that take place in the past. Although there are many worlds that could work, such as pixar worlds which haven't been visited at all, or some of the 90's Disney cartoons(such as, we have seen chip and dale, but they could do a Resuce Rangers world that they lived in before going to Disney Castle). Then agian, you might play the game normaly in the future while also playing various flashbacks aswell.

One aspect to the worlds I think would be interesting to explore, would be, if all the worlds are actually one world. This would completely change the dynamic of the game, but would open up for some interesting set ups. So for example you could have Aladdin fighting Hades. This would also allow them to reuse old worlds, and simply say that when the worlds are split apart, everyone looses their memory of the past.

I have a feeling they will introduce a new form of Travel from world to world. I suppose they could introduce the orgins of the Gummi Ship, but I think it would be more interesting to see other methods to travel from world to world, such as how we saw the Train in Twilight Town. This actually brings up a point that I don't think was ever really explained, which is how Mickey goes about traveling from world to world, I assume he used the Corridars of Darkness...Maybe we will discover a way to open pathways to other worlds useing our Keyblades.

If it does take place in the past, we will likely not have Donald and Goofy, so who will our Side Kicks be? Maybe we will be playing all newly created characters such as the Knights; or perhaps we won't have Side kicks at all, and play as a solo character. But what Im hoping is we play a character(Ven) that teams up with a freshly trained Mickey, and change out the third spot with whatever world you happen to be in.

Anothing feature I think will eventaullly be changed in someway is the use of Magic. I think after working with the development of Crisis Core, Final Fantasy XIII, and Final Fantasy XIII Verses; Im pretty sure Nomura will have a more effective way to use magic in game.

Following the trend of the last two games, we will more than likely have a new "Traverse Town" of some sort, one that refects the new game's setting.

 

Well, KH2 was almost entirely different combat wise, right? Not different persay, but faster. :P

Hmn...I wonder..Do you think it could be like Hakumi said, and be in the past, or could it even be in the future? I haven't completely played KHII yet, so I'm not exactly sure of everything that goes on.
I heard that since Disney bought out Pixar, that there may be some worlds from Pixar movies in it.
But I'm not sure.

New chracters, definatly. What kind of video game would that be with no new faces?

 

Oh i hope so. that's one of the things i wanted in kh 1, pixar movies. Finding Nemo underwater level, or Monsters Inc. Having Sully in your party would rock.

 

well the next kh game is rated teen so i dont think the disney character will b there or not but...would b kinda strange if a rated teen game has disney character
i mean its better to stay at the same subject and not change subject!

-The letter sora recives in ending credits.
-Maifencints revenge she stated she would get once xenmas was gone.
-They never said anything like Ansem is gone cuz in kh chainofmemories riku says that Ansem is still inside of him and we saw Ansem(xeanort) say "I will return".
-MOST IMPORTANTLY SORA NEVER DID FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED IN CASTLE OBLVIVION.
