I keep having to say this

The ideas were better than Toriyama's, if only the execution wasn't lacking

At least SSJ4 wasn't MAXIMUM OVERHAIR and actually tried at some other aesthetic changes

 

This was the only good part in GT.

Toriyama was on as a consultant for at leat part of the series. That said, it's not hard to outdo the trainwreck of patchwork that was the DBZ anime plot and world building. I felt that there was hope for certain parts of GT, but everytime they had a chance to do something right they said, "Nah." Just as with DBZ it lacked any charm that could have made me relent.

 

I don't know about uncut or 4kids ified but by originl i meant just like when I watched it as a (young) boy

 

Well that's the unfortunate side effect of the fanbase being crazy enough to start in with the death threats the second they thought the series was over. The movies were pretty great though. :L

Although what was up with both Janemba and Hildegarn being weak to insults

DB has a history of at least passable films in general and GT carried on the tradition. Giant monsters aren't interesting to actually fight though(see also God of War), so I get why they got their shit wrecked up and down the block.

 

I dunno, I was entertained by the aforementioned. Well, until Janemba became not giant.

I get what you mean, but it still lacks mass appeal, which is what people are going for.

 

Fair. Broly and Cooler were much more the stand-outs in that department. A Super Saiyan that can kill like six Super Saiyans at once?! FRIEZA BUT BETTER?! :V

 

I actually got around to watching all of Dragon Ball Kai a few weeks ago. I actually enjoyed it.
Part of that enjoyement was probably nostalgia, but another part of me was just happy that all dem fillers were gone ohgodyes.
'Cept for Garlic Jr. They should have kept that because it's awesome.

Also, the movies were always amusing to watch.

The only real problem I had was how some of the characters looked (Vegeta and Goten in particular) and the crappy bgm. I also thought that it looked worse than the original DBZ. I love me some Dragon Ball, don't get me wrong.

That's why I don't like Kai. The bgm.

I get DB everyday here. Though I don't watch it. It's -Z's version.

 

I feel like DBZ Kai went from one extreme to the other. It's too hectic; they took out not only the excessive pauses but all pauses, and some of those were good for building tension.

100% agreed on Garlic Jr. though. #1 filler world. <3
