So...The Meaning of Life?

Now, no way are we going to find an answer everyone agrees on, that is one of the only things that will be obvious in this thread.

What I want to know is, what is your take on the meaning of life?
Is it we live to breed and continue on our species through the next genration?
To utimately die?
To become rich and famous?
To gain pleasure at everything we do?
To learn and become wise?

 

I personally believe that we exist to experience, learn, and understand the aspects of life we end up coming face to face with. Everyone makes mistakes, and we only learn from our mistakes by making mistakes in the first place, correct? It's the same thing with just...existing. The things we do in life we learn from, if an experience is good we learn it is good, and vise versa. By learning from our actions, we create our own understandings based on the world. I think since we all experience, learn, and understand things in life, it is a major part of life. In my opinion, it's the very reason we are all here.

I've contemplated the whole "we have a need for breed" theory, but I don't see it. Why would we exist only to create more of our own kind? There has to be some kind of goal for us, it can't just be about existing, right? Breeding is a very important part of life, I totally agree. I just don't think it is the ultimate reason for existing.

Now I would expand my theories on to what God created us to exist for, but I don't want anyone jumping on me with a knife in their hand. I am not religious, but I have an open mind about such things as God, and I've pondered about stuff like this.

 

I think there's only one option in meaning of life: To live and die. In between, do what you longed to do (kinda sounds stupid). But that's how we believe it. We will die one day. So we try to enjoy our lives as much as we can.

 

Life is whatever you decide to make it. There is no set meaning.

 

To not die.

 

To continue the species.
All there is to it.

Speaking from the sentimental side of me, the one thing I want to do in life is to change a life for the better. To have one person be able to say that without me their life would have been completely different. Other than that, just to love and believe in my soul.

Corniness and fangirlism aside, I suppose also the obvious things like continue the species, but some people choose not to do this. :/ As well as I suppose to live and die, but that's just boring. c:

I think we should try to accomplish the well-being of as many people as we possibly can, and when we think we have reached that limit, put the world to ruin in a short-lived but intense wave of hedonism.

 

I don't think that life really requires a purpose for it to be a good life, but some good rules to follow are:

1.To emphathise.
2.To think before you act

A lot of the world's problems could have been prevented had these measures been taken.

 

for myself i personally believe the meaning of life is love and those that you care about; being with them, helping them, and making them happy... because if that happens you can have meaning in life yourself. :D

 

There really is no preset meaning or purpose to life. That is something we make ourselves, whether it's to help others, satisfy our desires, make an impact on the world, it's our decision to do what we want with our life and end it the way we want.

 

It depends on what people believe and stuff. Like if your religious or not.
I believe the meaning of life is to change the world somehow and death at the end is just the reward.
It acutally might be Once upon a time, they lived happily ever after. What you do in the middle is up to the person.
Is life just a simulation that people play to be happy? Or is it escape from hell? Or was it created because someone was bored?
We really won't know until its the end of our lives itself. You'll see why you were put on this earth. But we can take our life into our own hands and make it whatever we want. Me, I want to be an archeologist and to be remembered by that. To find out the past and maybe even discover some of the future. Thats my little change in the world.

I believe the meaning of life is to experience what you can and to make the most of your life. Live it to the fullest.

And mostly I believe this cause I think it's kinda like a self-fulfilling prophecy. If I think that's the point in life, then my life will be more like that. (I hope)
