So, let's just say that scientists are one hundred percent sure that this God fellow exists. Would you really want him to be here? It has just been a question I've been pondering on and my answer is:

I wouldn't. Not after all that this guy has caused. All the fears he's put into people and all the hopes. Anything I do will send me to Hell. As much as I think Jesus would probably be awesome to hang out with, I wouldn't want him to exist after all that God has caused.

I'd probably start behaving myself though.

    What about you?

Most, if not all, of those fears and hopes were not presented by God. Humanity created it's own suffering, it's own happiness, it's own love, it's own hate. God had nothing to do with it.

I wouldn't want anyone to prove it, actually. Religion is something that you have to believe in blindly, and if you don't, it's not real faith. If someone did prove that God is real and that the Christians were 'right,' people would still reject it. Scientists are confident in that we evolved from single-celled organisms, but we still have people saying that God put us on this Earth. Why would more scientific 'proof' of something be any different?

People will always believe in what they want to, despite scientific discoveries or 'proof.' As for me, I believe in myself.

Although it would be cool to meet God. She seems pretty rad.

Well, bring a Christian, i'm not afraid to believe in him, and i hope that if he does make it down here, I'll be beside him at all times, as he's always there for me =)

I have been brought up to believe that this is not true O___O
God forgives you, as long as you believe in him and Jesus Christ.

    She!?.....Well...that explains a lot O_O

If God were to actually proofed to be real, all misconceptions would be put aside, but , imagine the pope saying "God's will is...." those terrified with the idea of God sending them to hell would unwillingly follow. And those agaisnt God would become an organized group to rebel, the goverments would issue persecussion against those who do not obey, leading to small conflicts around the world, not only that but if the papacy(being a multi-million dollar organization) were to supply our failing goverment money, they would gladly obey like a good dog.

So, no the existance of God is best left questionable.

I believe god exsists. He is the lord and savior who many people worship. He created this big blue sphere. He created animals. He created us. And he watches over all his children and ttys his best to keep each one safe

Well, lets say God does exist? If he does, then he'd see the world for what it truely is, a hell hole now, but he would use the flood again to kill the world again and save those he saw fit to recreate the world for time again...too bad there's no one like that now. I'd say two things, one, God does exist, he's just not interfering with life, and two, he's not going to do much more than watch.

Jesus seems like a cool guy to hang out with.

Forgotten->Eh, we can never know gender wise. They say its male only because that's dominate. But if it was me I would say neither, why would God make it unfair and have a dominant gender?
Sonic-> I don't ignore Christians even if I'm an Atheist. It's nice to get different beliefs, y'know? Rather than just ignore everything that someone doesn't believe. I mean, I can see if they were speaking his name in vain, but just because they think something else of the story doesn't mean ignore them. I believe that Jesus existed but I think that he used his intelligence to help other people, the bible I think was made to keep people in order, rather than laws, An eye for an eye, so people wouldn't make bad decisions.

I don't really think god exists, but if he did, and there WAS proof, most people wouldn't care anyway and continue living their life as usual...

In my opinion, those fears you're talking about are humans intervening for God, but not as God. I think the things God has wished seem more like poetic notes or expressions, not actual wishes. People have tried to understand God but have failed, and the "fear" we see today from the Church is just one small fraction of the huge misrepresentation of the God figure, IMO.

I don't care whether he is here or not. So far I've seen no reason to feel he even exists, but the possibility is still there.

If he is here, I think he created the universe in a pretty solid fashion, where everything is malleable equally. A universe under the laws we have (natural law, obviously) doesn't really need the intervention of a being in a different dimension. But it seems that history shows (whether or assumed or not, true or false) whenever he starts to move in our world, people die. Which looks like a sad price to pay for wishing upon his actions.

I'd ask him to leave, considering the amount of pain and suffering that has been done in his/her name. We would be much better off without him/her.

Also is it not said that without faith god is nothing? Faith is defined as the belief in something without evidence. As soon as there is proof there is no faith because you know that whatever it is is real. Therefore as soon as there is proof of god, god will become powerless. Not that he/she ever intervened in any meaningful way before.

God is also very unforgiving. He sent Moses into exile and wouldn't let him see Israel for giving the Hebrews food when God said they didn't deserve any. And I'm Jewish. My people don't believe in Jesus. So we'll go to hell for not accepting Christ as the Messiah? We (collectively, not myself) believe in the God part of it and the Torah (your Old Testament). Let's say your religion is right. Do we still got to hell for not accepting Christ and for not believing in a heaven or hell?

I don't mind if your atheist,I treat all people the same.I understand everything your saying, and it's true,it really could be to keep peace and make the right decisions. But,you never know, anything, could be true.Just saying.

This is a good question.Personally i wish someone like that did exist but i just can't believe in something that causes so much conflict.
If he did exist he would prove that there is somone always looking out for you which is a great feeling but at the same time he was the cause of so much suffering.

Well one thing I'd like to understand is how he's let this world gotten to be where it is...all the wars and killing and such. After a while, I might not care if God exists or not. Things would have probably continued to be the same even if scientists had not found him/her.

And i would want him to be here. after all, he created me and saved us from ours sins.thats all im gonna say. if you think every thing you do will send you to you know where, then you should maybe change your ways.
