So, just where are the Destiny Islands?

This is presuming it's on earth, assuming that the Disney worlds are actual worlds themselves, and not apart of the same plant (Sora and Riku shooting from the sky in KH2 would strengthen this)


I'm guessing somewhere off the coast of Asia, or maybe around the Caribbean.

 

Umm... I don't think i've ever heard this idea before.
I think i can say with all my belief Destiny Islands is a fictional setting on a fictional world, and is most likely based on the concept of an abandoned, shipwrecked island and no place in reality.

 

Well, of course it's fictional, but it might be on Earth, I don't think we know yet.

Speaking of DI, is it just me, or is it REALLY small? I mean, we're presuming there are stores and other businesses, homes, and of course, a school. From what I've seen, Destiny Islands is pretty small, so it's kind of confusing to me.

 

Well uh, I don't think Destiny Islands is suppose to on Earth. I think its, its own world. Disney worlds aren't the only ones that have there own worlds. Traverse Town, Twilight Town, TWTNW, etc.

DI is rather, a little suspicious. Its holds some secrets. Cause, obviously from what we'd seen, theres a small town nearby. So Im guessing that most of the general world is in that town, and Sora and his friends usually just hang at the beach.

Thats me guess at least.

If it was on Earth, I would have to guess Japan. But then again, isn't it its own world?

Which isn't all together a bad thing.

But yeah, I think it's just another world. A little fragment of reality that's separate from another fragment of reality. No different to what say a Lilo and Stitch world would be. It's just a small place covered in sea and sand. Only it seems to be the focus point of all things Darkness vs Light at the moment thanks two a certain two teenage protagonists.

 

Then I guess that it is just a fragment of a larger world, and that smaller fragment is what Sora & Co. have access to.

 

the same place all the other worlds are...in gummi space....XD....but hey ever notice its always seems like its late day there....i think maybe destiny islands might fall closer to the dark side of the light-dark spectrum

 

Me I would say it could of been a carrabian island if it was on earth, and also on the second game you find out the island you play on number one is acctually the smallest one of the islands, and they go to school on the main land next door.

 

It is a fictional world for Gods sake. I'm tired of this question. And how the heck DI would be located on Caribbean? Especially if you think about the Pirates of The Caribbean!

Since the game is Japanese then the Islands, if we desperately want to locate them somewhere in the real world, would be somewhere near in Japan.

 

but it is a tropical island the last time I looked Japan wasn't very tropical......

Most of those worlds were just cities, yet they were individual worlds.
You can say Destiny Islands is a set of islands whose surrounding seas stretch into the Gummiverse. (I'm still wondering how Kairi's bottle traveled realms)

World=/=planet.

 

Can't say I've ever thought about this XD But if I had to pick a place, I would say Japan. The style of dress, the hair, and the houses all seem to suggest some rural town there, and it's close to the ocean, with a small island off the coast. It would also make sense, since the designers are Japanese.

 

yeah i'd love to know how the heck they expected to make it to another world on a raft...sailing out into the ocean...when the worlds are in gummi space...O_o is it like you can sail off the edge of the worlds or something

 

They didn't know about Gummi space.
All they knew was that there was "Destiny Islands" and the ocean.
They figured there had to be something else out there, especially since Kairi came from somewhere.

Maybe Riku and Sora figured out there was something else after meeting Terra

And also, we know "world" in KH doesn't mean "planet," but to SRK, it could've meant anything. Maybe even just another island.

Well, Destiny Islands is just out at sea from a small town. In the cutscene when Kairi is coming home, you can see Twilight Town slightly. So I'm guessing Twilight Town must be in like... America?

 

All of the worlds are located in Nomura's head/imagination.:ninja:

 

:lol: So true. I'm pretty sure that would be the right answer. :D Serious, though... the whole game is in his head. ;) Destiny Island is just a little world in a universe that is in Nomura's imagination.... and what a creative imagination he has.
