    Don't rush things.
    Block when needed.
Use the dodge button. It's a miracle-worker if you're not wearing heavy armor.
If you die, learn from your mistakes.

And you WILL die. A LOT.

Now, go. So the world might be mended...So the world might be mended.

Be prepared to die. A LOT...

Don't be afraid to be 'cheap' Many of the bosses are not designed to be taken head-on. Not effeciently anyway.

Revist old areas. Farming is pretty much essential to this game. Getting your souls back may be simple, but if your going through a new level it isn't easy.

swimming in a pool of lava may be great at burning calories but it has the unfortunate side effect of being lethal. Believe me, I tried.

I meant the most basic message you could possibly give someone. I didn't mean a literal fire.

Play world 4-1, kill all of the skeletons at the beginning of the level, leave, come back. Rinse and repeat. Great way to farm souls, and will be useful later on. Also, beat world 2-1 and 2-2, then take the Red Hot Demon's Soul to the blacksmith in 2-1, that way, you can craft special weapons. If you need help, you can VM me and I'll answer any questions and give you more in depth advice.

2-2 messed with my head some. It turns out that I went straight for the shortcut without realizing it. When the first for gate I went through was the boss (especially him) the only thing going through my head was "oh crap, oh crap, oh crap..."

Okay, here's what you do. You ready? I... Are you... Are you ready? Here--Here it is

    Get. naked.

No seriously. If you're a Knight or a Templar or any other bulky class, don't stop stripping off armor until you can roll properly. Then you'll have a shield worth a crap, your energy will come back faster, and you can dodge the things that your shield can't handle. I promise you, it works. Usually all you have to take off with the basic equipment is the torso and the helmet; you can substitute in lighter armor as you find it, if you please.

Oh, and blocking is great and all, but remember to let go of the block button when you're not being attacked; blocking stifles your energy recovery.

And remember this: Demon's Souls does not want you to succeed. It wants to pound you into mush and light you on fire and eat what ever is left. It will go to great lengths to ensure this outcome. Don't get discouraged, even if your death rate is heading into the triple digits.

Take happy pills before playing. You'll need them.
