So I saw the preview for cirque du freak

and it sucks. The book series was great, but the preview looked horrible.

"Wanna be a vampire?" What? No! That is so not what happened, he only became one(and he was half anyway) to save his best friend.

It's. Just. A. Trailer.
Please do not judge a movie by its trailer, it's like judging a book by its cover.
It might be a bit different but one lousy 2-3 minutes can't predict how awesome the movie itself is.
So what if they changed it a bit from the books?
YOU know how the books went (if you read them of course) and YOU know that they are as epic as they can be. A movie can't always be the same as the books. Have you ever read and seen the Shining? The Shining was an awesome movie, one of my favourites if I may say, but the book was different in so much ways. The book was great too. It's just an example.
First see the movie, then judge.

Now I won't bother reading the novel as it seems that if I will like the movie alot more if I watch it as a stand alone.

 

Books should not become movies. It rarely works out, especially if it's a quckie to get some cash, which most young adult fictions tend to become.

 

Great exception = Lord of the Rings. Hmmm.. The Grinch too. lol

 

Not really a young adult novel though, is it? Also, the movies were really long, and had a massive budget and a good director. Anything with that sort of support will be good, otherwise it will turn out like the Eragon movie. *shudders*
