They're a good band but um...that album? Ha. Haha. I heard it was epic. Man On The Moon: The End of Day shits on The Resistance. Muse, step your game up.

You do know that it's been called their second worst album so far, right?

And that, sir, is why I said they're a good band.

Well I agree its not their best album but Kid Cudi's success is no where near as high as Muse's. I mean, besides the fact you're comparing two different genre's, a band to a single person, and other glaring big differences that make them hard to compare to each other.

Cudi is pretty much as multi-genre as you can get with current rap albums. The only reason he's rap is because he rhymes words. Also, can I compare if I said Cudi & Producers>Muse? ::L:

Not if you have only listened to that album.

Origins of Symmetry, Absolution, and Black Holes & Revelations are some of the best albums I've heard. Like, ever.

Would it be ok to say my fave so far is "Map of the Problematique"?

    EDIT:

By the way I haven't heard all of their songs as I only own one album so far (blame my lack of much money :<)

    Sorry John, couldn't help myself.

    IN MY OPINION.

Absolution > Showbiz > The Resistance > Origin of Symmetry > Black Holes and Revelations > Hullabaloo

    As told by Last.fm:

Muse's outstanding genres: alternative rock, rock, alternative, progressive rock, indie

Kid Cudi's outstanding genres: hip-hop, rap, hip hop, alternative rap, house

They overlap but aren't the same. Kid Cudi might be the most multi-genre as far as you can get with rap, but there's no way his sound comes close to Muse's.

this besides the other differences I listed. Like the fact Kid Cudi isnt a band...

And they still dont compare imo, lol.

Those two albums sound more similar than you'd think. Also, Cudi is only the most muti-genre with current rap albums. Theres still B.o.B who has made songs that sound like country music on acid and Charles Hamilton who mixes rap with punk and alternative rock.

I didn't mean to imply he's better than them lol, just his album was better than their new one. Typo on my part.

I think hip-hop tends to sound more like pop, while rap is a bit more...I dunno, aggressive? Can't think of a better word at the moment.

    No worries.

I guess. I need to listen to more Kid Cudi anyway.

Hip-Hop today is mostly that gimmicky ****. Ex: Soulja Boy, Current Wayne, Flo Rida. Rap doesn't have to be aggressive, it's when the artist actually focuses on lyrics and skill rather than using Auto-Tune for an instant hit and saying catchy stuff. Speaking of Auto-Tune, here's B.o.B making fun of it.
