So I just got an Xbox 360 as a gift...

Yeah, I know threads like these are made quite often... but I would like to know which games I should go out and buy right away.

Games I got as a gift:

- Guitar Hero: World Tour Rockband 2
- X-Blades
- Terminator Salvation CoD: WaW
- Gears of War 2

That's all I have so far, so what should I get next? I've been thinking Call of Duty and Gears of War, but feel free to suggest what you feel were great buys. (Also, which Call of Duty should I get? xD).

I've never played any of them, but the online feature seems fun from what I hear.

 

I have always heard Good things about Oblivion.

 

Rock Band 2 (a much better game than Guitar Hero, plus instruments are cross compatible between the two games, plus a bigger out of the box soundtrack thanks to the 20 bonus tracks)
Fallout 3 (runs better than the PS3 version (albeit not by much))

All of these suggestions are great. Just be sure to rent Prince of Persia. Its great, but its too short.

 

X-Blades doesn't fair that well either. Unforunately you got a **** bundle with that one, though I do like GH:WT.

Some of the special moves are cool, but from what I've heard Devil May Cry is loads better. Kinda regret opening it though... but I'm still going to return Terminator Salvation.

 

X-Blades is one of the worst Hack and Slash games i ever played to be honest :/

Yeah I'm returning Salvation this weekend and also buying a wireless adapter so I can set up a game room in my basement. (Damn thing costs a Ben Frank though... geez).

 

What? Didn't like the selection?..but if I had to choose between all of them, I'd go Gears for gameplay..story comes close with Saints Row so its hard to choose between them really..

But yeah, Saints Row and GoW for sure man...also, game room eh?..how many consoles you got now?

 

Lol no... I mean you're right I'm glad it wasn't my money I wasted.

And uh... just a 360 and a Ps2, but it's too cramped in my living room to set up guitar hero and stuff lol.

 

Oh, gotcha..you'll probably be on your 360 most of all for get togethers. Btw..never played Guitar Hero or Rockband..is it really as cool as people say it is?
