I've never read the book, but the movie does seem to be missing a lot of ****. Like, Kat's friend in the beginning is somewhat of a bf or something in the books, and in the movies, I thought he was some random guy.

I wouldn't. That ending was handled really badly. It just stopped. It would have been much better if it had ended right when the Games ended.

Gabe definitely had a crush on her, but she was too oblivious to reciprocate. I do not know what happened with that in the end.

 

A bad ending isn't all it takes for me to not enjoy something.

It was a good movie until it went the "teen romance" route.

 

That's really looked at in the later books.

In the first one, he's just a random friend with no purpose to the story.

I read the first book and never watched the movie. Anything that handles an ending that badly can't possibly be any better in movie form.

And it's always down because I've been on a singleplayer kick recently. I'll put it back up at some point in the near future.

Since we're talking about endings of books & movies, does anyone else think the Watchmen movie had a better ending than the graphic novel? (spoiler it if you're going to discuss in detail)

 

The book ended with Peeniss on a train, heading back to District 12. It doesn't really end so much as stop.

 

You want to see a bad ending? Watch The Mist, the movie adaptation of the Stephen King book. THAT is a terribad ending.

 

I read the first page of the book and saw the last three minutes of the movie. I didn't really have any inclination to look at more than that. :v
