Just finished beating Barbossa. Those pirates were quite annoying.

Ugh, I know. Are you supposed to use magic when they go into the dark? I usually just hack at them or wait for them to come after me.

Indeed they do. They have been trying to find their hearts again for quite a while now.

Personally I prefer the plot of the original Kingdom Hearts.

    Being an ass isn't appreciated.

I hate the part where they time you for getting the medallions D8

I don't think so. Hacking at them when in the dark doesn't help of course, so I just wait until they come out into the moonlight. I rarely use magic with the exception of Cure and a few spells at the fights with the Organization near the end.

I know that hacking at them does nothing but like you, the only magic spells I use are Cure, then sometimes Magnet and Reflect. It just passes the time lol.

And I agree, KH is better.

Same here regarding the magic thing.
And I too like the plot for KH1 better. Although, the levels were so much more complicated at that point.

I liked the part when I turned it off : D Any other KH game is better than that one.

I believe I have only used Reflect as Reflaga twice. One was in the Xigbar fight as I remember.

The complicated levels were one of the upsides of the original Kingdom Hearts in my opinion. For example, the Agrabah of KHII is much more linear and Atlantica is just a jumble of singing minigames.

It definitely gave the game a point that's for sure. But wow, I really like Hollow Bastion for what it was before. I do like the postern in KH2, but all of the puzzles within Hollow Bastion (KH1), made it more interesting. The organization storyline is what I enjoyed about KH2.

I think everyone can agree that blindly trying to make their way through the Lift Stops was a pain in the neck. But I agree, Hollow Bastion puzzles were fun. and imo, the Organization didn't really get a huge story. It was just kind of Sora being like "ahur, gunna kill 'em badies."

Hollow Bastion all in all seemed better in the first Kingdom Hearts, including it being at least mildly pleasing to the eye.

The Hollow Bastion in KHII looks like garbage in my opinion.

The Organization storyline was a tolerable and acceptable one to say the least. Something else I liked about KHII was the battle system (but dear god they need to tone down on the Reaction Commands) and the Gummi Ship levels. The Gummi Ship levels in the original Kingdom Hearts were quite boring.

It was definitely a pain.Tbh I had to get help from the strategy guide since I was seriously stuck on it. D: Well that is also why I am grateful that they made a game devoted to the organization in Days. I'm glad they didn't shove Sora in there somehow, because that kid is just becoming a pain only because his personality is not too realistic. Besides, seeing more of Axel is always good. xD

@What?: I really liked the battle system too. And the forms were always useful. Although, I agree, there is too much button mashing and not enough precision timing that is involved in order to get a command right.

Kingdom Hearts II suffers for having only ONE special boss :<

I liked the Kingdom Hearts II Hollow Bastion. :> I like the whole 'restoration' story, I thought it was sweet.

The Organization thing I think just didn't get enough backstory, which is what we were kind of hoping for in Days. Kingdom Hearts II's battle system was really fun, the Drive forms are so addicting to use (and abuse, in my case). The Gummi Ship was ehh in my opinion. I didn't like how complicated they made it to build your own ships. The ships I made in the first Kingdom Hearts were awesome, but to this day I can't figure out Kingdom Hearts II's Gummi Garage.

Edit: I agree with Kites, there should have been some timing things. When I saw the first battle videos for KHII I thought you had to time it so that when the Triangle that appears on the enemy gets the smallest it can be, you hit the reaction button.

I must say though, Birth by Sleep's battle system looks pretty rad, especially Aqua's fighting style.

The plot for Hollow Bastion was okay. At least they expanded on the location a bit. Though it still isn't as visually pleasing for myself.

The Drives were extremely fun indeed, although Anti Sora was annoying to use at times. I liked the Gummi Ship levels because I suppose I am a fan of shoot em' ups, and the levels themselves remind me of Gradius and - to a greater extent - Star Fox 64. I never did tinker with the ship customization options, though.

I played the BBS demo when I went to TGS. The precision on some of the aspects of the battle system is actually more improved than KH1 & 2. They did an excellent job for a handheld.

I liked the KH2 Gummi Ship Locations as well. And indeed, they did remind me of Star Fox 64. I do like the simplicity of the KH1 Gummi Ship, but I did like the addition of more enemies in KH2. I guess there's some things I would swap around in both games.

Was anyone disappointed that the graphics didn't really have a huge improvement between the two? I want to see some Next Gen Kingdom Hearts characters. :/

They're fine for a PS2 game I think, considering how much stuff is going on all the time.
