Just caught up on the last of the Disney's Fairies movies. Believe it or not they're actually really good. Tinkerbell was always my favorite character from Peter Pan. These movies are totally worth watching.

Oh and here's something you might not know ... the voice of Tinkerbell in these movies is Mae Whitman, also known for her work as Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender and Yuffie from the English version of Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix.

The main dude fairy also happens to be Mike Jesse McCartney.

My younger sister was/is super into those movies, but I'm just meh about them.

My 29 year-old sister recently complained that there was no Pirate Fairy movie when she was four. She now gets visibly angry when anyone mentions the next Disney Fairies movie to her.

There was no Pirate Fairy when I was four either, which is cool because I probably wouldn't have watched it. We also didn't have all these video games, mp3 players, and all the fancy learning toys. The world is constantly evolving, as is entertainment. Your sister shouldn't be mad about not having a Pirate Fairy when she was four (honestly your memory retention for movies aren't that great at four anyway), she should be ecstatic to have one now (at a period at which she can retain and enjoy the movie a whole lot more).

PS The Pirate Fairy has already been released. The next Fairies movie is set to release in Spring of 2015 and is titled "Legend of the NeverBeast". The trailer looks interesting.

Personally, I think the books were better.

lol, my youngest sister loved the fairy movies, so she watched the movies and she bought the little books. I... I really didn't like most of the movies, but looking back, maybe that was because I ended up seeing the Great Fairy Rescue over and over and over again. That and I had never really liked Tinker Bell as a character anyway. But the books were surprisingly cute (what? I read everything I come across if it has a good first sentence) and I ended up liking the characters there. Unfortunately, most of the characters in the books were barely in the movies, and vice verse. Now, my youngest sis doesn't care about the Fairy movies at all, and hasn't for awhile, so I haven't seen or read anything recently.

BUT MY OTHER SIS IS A DIEHARD TOM HIDDLESTON FAN and I am too SO WE NEED TO WATCH THE NEW ONE BECAUSE HOOK!!!

My Niece watches Jake and the Neverland Pirates. She's seen some of the Disney Fairies but she's more into Princesses right now. I get to relive my childhood through her.

Well, guess I might as well try to hold in my breakfast, lunch, and dinner to try and watch these and see if they're actually any good. But I warn you, if it gets any where near to being girly, and sappy, or even cheesy, I'm quitting.

Depends on what your definition of girly is. If you can't stomach the first four, I'd at least recommend watching The Pirate Fairy because Cap'n Hook. I suppose the movies aren't as girly as My Little Pony but they're more girly than Peter Pan (going off the general consensus of what is and is not girly).

I'm talking about girly like Winx Club Stella girly, or little kid girly where it gets incredibly full of "Pretty, sparkly, I care for you so much"............sorry, had to take a moment, I just felt a bad feeling in the back of my throat....

I wouldn't say it's Winx Club girly. There isn't really that much sparkle. It's also kind of cool to hear Mae Whitman as the VA for Tinkerbell. Lucy Liu is also a VA for the character Silvermist. You should be able to tolerate it.

Yeah, I think the only way I can get through this is keeping myself reminded of the character voices of kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy

If it helps you could always picture them as the fairies with razor sharp teeth that attack and consume people and creatures who wander into their woods ... though in The Great Fairy Rescue that wouldn't really work.

Honestly it's not that bad. It's common Disney works. The intended audience is for females but it's only as girly as you let it be ^^

Don't worry, it's only mildly flutterific.
