    I found out that I could have bought a 3DS and a game with the rest of my birthday money this year. Adding up all the cash I've gotten I got over $250 this year. But it would be a waste to buy a 3DS and game, since I leave in 2 days, and they don't allow game systems at volunteering, so it would be a waste. Besides, when I get back and get some birthday money, I'll definitely have enough for a 3DS

    Since we're talking about it, I have almost enough for a PSVita, a game, and a memory stick. Life with a job is good.

    Can afford a 3DS but i'm holding back on getting one.

    I some how believe a 3DS KH console will be announced and released in Europe, but I know it's not gonna turn out liek that.

    But will get one over summer, likely.

    Ahahaa, I've got 1200 bucks right now. But I need to save it for tuition and survive with it till September/October, so no new game systems for me...

    It's fine if you pay it back right away or within a reasonable amount of time. Its a lot safer than using your debit card.

    I'll be sticking with debit. Not too mention, adding up what the rest of my money will get me, I wouldn't have enough to pay it back
    And I'm not used to credit, only debit, so I'm stickin' with what I know

    I have no money. My family owns a business, so any work I do for them gets a huge pay cut to keep the business afloat.

    But I'm Canadian. ;-;

    It's fine. Any money is better than no money. Still, I'm job hunting.

    Based on the numbers I quickly looked up, the average home in the United States will run you $350,000. Planning to pay cash for that?

    There is nothing inherently wrong with credit cards; if you handle it maturely and make your payments on time, it can actually work to your benefit. Debit cards do have their merits but purchasing with a credit card also offers you certain protections that a debit card lacks. It's simple finance. Neglecting to build a credit history in today's economy is irresponsible, regardless of any prediction of the fall of credit. As Libre brought up, none of us can foresee something like that.

    Personally I'm still too young to get a credit card, but I plan to shortly after I turn 18. For now, sticking to my debit card & cash.

    I know to stick with Debit at this moment in time, because i have no sort of income, meaning it'd be pretty stupid if I used credit right now. Imagine if I bought a 3DS using credit right now. I wouldn't be able to pay back the amount, and because I have no way to get money, I'd wait a whole year to pay off, and interest is going to build up in that amount of time, and I'm not dealing with that

    That would be silly, aye. But if you ever intend to shop online you're better with a credit card and paying it off as soon as. At least with a credit card you have protection. Perhaps its different in the US, but in the UK you don't have protection for your debit card if your card details are stolen.
