Lead by husband and wfie John Cooper and Korey Kooper, Skillet is a heavy metal Christian rock band whose actually made a name for themselves in the music industry. Adored by people of all beleifs, Skillet has released a number of CD, one of which is a worship CD and another with live perfomrances of some of their better knowns music. Currently, their last two CD's, Comatose and Awake have sold over half a million, meaning that they are now known as gold status. Currently, they are touring with Toby Mac and other bands in what is called the "Winter Wonder-Slam".
They're married? I never knew that. I love Skillet. I don't know many of their songs, but the ones I do know are <3 And their Jen is pretty damn hot, imo. I love drummer girls. anyways, Hero and Monster might be my favorite songs by them, except for Collide. Collide (the album, not song) was inspired by Linkin Park apparently and I love Linkin Park, but I prefer Awake to Collide. I didn't know their were a Christian band until last year and when I went back and replayed their songs, I realized they could be about Christ lol
Yeah, I've only been real into them this past year, but I've enjoyed many of their songs. I really like "It's Not Me It's You", because I really don't see it as a break up song. For me, it has my own meaning, but that can be said about a lot of their songs. They are Christian, but a lot fo the songs can be seen in various ways. My favorite song would have to be "Forgiven", just because of the awesome message it gives me. They're very open about their Christianity. John says that rock and roll can be about anything "and I write songs about my faith in Jesus". It was during an intro to the song Awake and Alive during one of their concerts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LI0EZOu5KD8
Skillet is awesome! I love the fact they are of the rock persuasion, because they have great messages behind their songs, and they are even appealing to those who don't consider themselves Christian (rocking out for God and spreading the Word, FTW). Even though I enjoy rockin' out to most of their songs, I adore "Say Goodbye". Such a beautiful song. "Winter-Wonder Slam" was just in my hometown last week. I'd have gone if I weren't away at college.
