For old style, old school stuff then I recommend Madness. They are really good and most people have heard at least one of their songs here. Try 'Baggy Trousers', 'Our House' and 'House of Fun'. It's really upbeat and funny, and some of the songs such as 'One Better Day' and 'Uncle Sam' have a serious message.

Yep, I like a little 'Madness'

I'm not very hardly into them, but Less Than Jake is pretty good; I'd recommend "She's Gonna Break Soon" and "That's Why They Call It A Union".

"We're All Dudes" is pleasing. =D

Ska.. The only band I've really heard that'd be classed as that would be Reel Big Fish. Well, they're Punk Ska, but.. same-ish thing XD

Apparently Lily Allen is classed as Ska, too. So there's a modern act for ya xP

New orleans is haven for Ska bands.

Less Then Jake is a really mainstream approach, I wouldn't classify them as Ska.
Reel Big Fish, however, isn't too bad.
    my personal favorites would include

    Shutup Travis
    Skanamontapeia(sp?)
Big D and The Kids Table

The first two are local bands from here, really. But they have music myspaces.
They're good places to start, especially Big D.

Now, if you're interested in Ska with a much more punk rock/hardcore sound, I'd suggest the Filaments. They were the first ska-ish punk band I really got into.
Make sure it's the filaments from the U.K., not the American version.

And Vivi, you have 666 post! Woo!
