I was in school. and there were two people singing, one had a guitar, and doing a harmony as the girl sang the melody. so, i stepped in, and started doing another harmony. As i did....i got chill down my spine....because the mix of the 3 voices was something...amazing, it made me feel so exited. Now, why is that? how can music be so amazing, so perfect, the blend of voices.....something sublime, how can music be so elaborate that it even has it's own language system, how can it tear the soul, or mend it, how it can inspire points of view, it can spark life....the sheer power of it, can do much more than words. is this mere coincidence, or is there something more? your opinions?
Music just has that affect on some people. For me, music is like oxygen, it's like magic. For others music means nothing. It is like anything, it all comes down to the person playing or listening. Music moves some people <3 I wish I could have heard xD I always have loved your voice.
That's how I feel with some music. The feeling is honestly amazing. My dad used to call me crazy when I would sit on the couch listening to my I-pod and crying over how beautiful a song was. I just love the feeling. Music usually effects my emotions as well. Not all music is like that for me though. Some songs aren't very...Meaningful to me, I guess. Some music just doesn't touch me like that. That's just how music is with some people. :3
Its not the music itself.. its the emotions that come with it, and the memories certain tunes bring enough. And a good voice is a good voice. People get chills etc when they hear a good singer because any beautiful things put us in awe x3 You must have a pretty beautiful voice (:
that wasn't really the point of the thread, but , i do mingle a bit with singing. But, why is this? who created music, i refuse to believe it was coincidential, it's so elaborate, how is it that each voice can blend , that people have exact tones of voice to fit with each other
For some people, music is their heart and soul, me. For other people music is just something there,my sister. For me whenever I like a song, I play it over and over again until I learn the words.I always get the same feeling you have. It's the emotion you feel toward the music and your love for the music itself. It's like when your heart beats fast around somebody you like, you get a feeling that you can't control.Something that makes to feel good, an adrenal rush. It feels sorta like magic,a spell..
We make music everyday, without even realizing it. Every step, every word, every sound, they're all music themselves. And that's how music came to be, somebody realized this and added chords and harmonies, and eventually words to make what we love today. For most, music is their life, like me. Every song has a different meaning, and I somehow fit into the little crevice of relation to that particular song. It's just like magic to me. I can't even describe how I feel about music into words. It's just...I don't even know. I just love it so much. <3 Artists love to help others, and have others relate to them, which is a very important reason to why music is so popular. If you're having a good time and just want to dance, someone was feeling the exact same way and wrote the song to help you do that. Or if you're feeling down and sad about something, another person wrote a song that says the same thing. I know that when I hear The Unwinding Cable Car by Anberlin, it calms me down, or when I'm sad, I pretty much cry as it plays because it's just...I don't even know. It's just one of those songs.
I cry every time I hear Shadow of the Day. It really gets you thinking, and it's really beautiful, and sad, and... *tears up*
Music is amazing. Some of the best moments I had in HS I made in my Acapella and Madrigal group. "If music be the food of love, Sing on." Shakespeare (?)
QFT. Like Obsessed said, music is a carrier for emotion. The goal for most musicians is to pass on a little bit of what they were feeling into a song. Music can tell you something about the writer's experiences or life. Or maybe it can just make you laugh. it's kind of like in a Bright Eyes song, there is a fake interview in it. When asked what he [the guy in Bright Eyes] wanted to do, he responded "create feelings." and that's exactly what music does. I know for me music is an essential part of life. Didn't Berkley Clodd say that in Sims: Urbz for Gameboy Advance? lol
My friend, music is the greatest thing to ever be invented. The notes mixing together in such ways that cause you to tap your foot or even sing along, are the greatest feelings you will ever have. Even in a time of war or depression, music can lighten anyone's spirit. Without music I couldn't survive another day. Without music, nothing would be right. Whenever I play music with my dad, or my friends, or anyone I always feel like I can do anything. When the song ends I'm always sad. That is music.
Some music just has that effect on people... When my friend sings his voice is so beautiful, that I drop everything I'm doing just to hear him :]
