I'm surprised there wasn't already a thread about this.

I got it yesterday, and played it for like, 9 hours straight. It has pretty much everything the other Sims games had, but it's a lot more awesome. The graphics are a lot better, and there's pretty much no loading time between the house and zooming out to the neighborhood. You can even have one sim at home, and another sim over at a friend's house or in a community lot and control them both. Think of your favorite feature from either of the previous games, and it's been upgraded.

    Thoughts? Questions?

Aww, luckeh!!! I want this game soooo bad. I've been a big Sims fan, and can't wait to have a copy of the 3rd.
Controlling two at once when one's at home and the other's away seems hard though D:
    Are the clothes any better?

The Sims is fun for people that like acting out storylines and basically simulating (hence the name) reality.

I've been a huge fan of The Sims. The Sims 2 was probably my most played game ever. I'm still saving my pennies for The Sims 3 sadly. Only fifteen dollars left to go. >:

I'm just worried that it won't run on my computer. Worst case scenario, I'll just install on my sister's.

    It's out?!
I keep seeing the commercials on television, but I never thought it was actually available yet.
I'll have to wait for it though because, I'm broke and owe my parents money.

Hmm, I've actually been hearing a lot of negative reviews for this. Mainly because of the type of computer that can run it and just overall it isn't the feel of what defines the Sims. But those are other people's opinions. :|

Anyway, I would like to get it sometime. Gotta remake my wonderful family again and all.

It's awesome. You get to create characters and control their lives and stuff.

There are less clothes, but there's a new color editor feature, so you can pick a top you like and change the color. Same thing with furniture.

My dad had to upgrade my RAM before I could install it.

You don't actually control the entire town, but you can zoom in to other parts of the town to see what people are doing, then send your sims to interact with them.

On my computer, it only takes about 30-45 seconds to load. After the main loading time, you don't really have to worry about anything else loading.

    It came out June 2.

People are complaining because they're not used to it. Also, it's a lot more realistic than the previous games.

The only downside for me is that the ultra-speed isn't as fast as it was in previous games. It's moreso about the speed of what the middle option used to be.

The new "ultra-speed through current action" is pretty cool though.

I was really looking forward to getting this for my Mac. Then I found out you apparently have to have Leopard installed on your computer before it will work. I suppose that means I have to wait until Christmas.

It's so awesome, way better than the previous Sims games.

The loading times to get to the community areas always pissed me off, so I never bothered to leave the Sim's house, now I totally don't have to deal with that.

You don't get as much furniture or clothes as you did with other Sims games, though I haven't bothered downloading anything for it yet and the adverts claim that you can ~customise everything~ but I don't really think it's worth the hassle, lol. So I just use what I'm given and I couldn't really care less about the custom styles. I have given my Sims highlights and stuff in their hair, though. 8D

Overall, worth the money/hype. and it works well on my laptop when I didn't think it would run so smoothly.

The game sounds cool and all, but I like the way the sims look in the previous game more... And I'm not sure would it work on my mac. I got the normal sims 2 and nightlife first. When my dad sold our computer for a cheaper one we got pets. I installed the pets first and after that the nightlife didn't work D: I thought that the nightlife game didn't work, but when I got university and it didn't work either I realized that the problem is probably in my mac. So I can only play one sims game.

I did some reasearch, and they designed it so that you can install it on either a Mac or a PC using the same disc.
