    A pic of Vexen. Yeah, Vexen, of all people.
    I felt like doing something, and I was experimenting with guidelines. First time I've ever used guidelines and it came out pretty good.
    And the writing says:
    "Simply Misunderstood
    Vexen"
    In case you can't read it.

    Uhhh...can't say whether I'm disturbed or amazed.

    Anyways, it's a pretty gd pic. Try shading some more.

    Well, he does look young.... If you want him to look like we all know (and love) him, you need to make the head look less round - when character's faces are mostly round it makes them look like a child or teenager. Vexen's face is more like.... a triangle with an obvious jaw, so it's also more square like. So try changing to that if you want original Vexen.

    The source of the neck is too far to the right - it should be in the center of the upper body, because it's part of the spine bones in the back. If you keep that fact in mind you can lightly draw the spine, and then build up the body from there.

    If you want any tips on the body.... I think you have to ask GIIIIIIIIIRLZ :D for suggestions, she probably knows everything you want to know in that area. :3

    Thanks, guys.
    Yeah, first real experience with drawing people, so I think I did pretty good to just get these critiques.
    Again, thanks. I'll keep practicing.

    And to cocohints:
    I'm REALLY bad at drawing older guys. That's why he looks so young. ^.^;;

    Not bad! His head seems too small for his body, and his hair could be longer in the front. His head could also be more pointed. Some shading would add to the overall look of it. Also his right shoulder is smaller than the left, if you were trying to do an angle of some sort it would still be bigger. Try finding some good reference pictures to practice from, it'll help alot.

    Lol, yeah it's the same problem with me too - I mostly only draw characters younger than 30. It is a bad habbit of ours, we must get out of that safety box of youth and draw real men! :3

    But of course, study the differences between youth and old guy and try drawing both. That is my advice to you.
