The species of the Earth race an endless race to see who comes out on top. It is a race of life and death, where only the strongest survive. You could call it "survival of the fittest." It is well known that the humans are at the top of the food chain, along with another species. The two have always been tied for first in the endless race, kicking the other species who drew too close down into the dust to perish while they fought each other for the top at the same time. This species was basically equal to humans. In some ways they were dominant over them but in other ways they were handicapped, causing them to stumble and trip occasionally. The paces both kept were steady until around 70 years ago. The humans had realized how much more powerful their rivals were, and though they had considered them friends, however bitter they felt, they turned against them. Murders of humans started around the world, each one was more unbelievable than the last. There was no doubt that these murders were from the second species, and the human world leaders declared war against the murderer's species. The war lasted for 17 years, and after that there wasn't a single sign of the second species. They could have gone into hiding, or there could have only been one or two. The only thing that the humans knew was that for now, they had stomped the other species into the dirt to fall far behind, never to catch up again. They didn't have to worry anymore about the Mrith. Yes I know you're not supposed to put a prologue only, I'm editing in chapter 1 into this post sometime. Lol how long has it been since I've been in this section.
You should have introduced the name of the other species earlier, saying "this species" and "that species" etc after a while got confusing. The whole prologue so far is damn confusing, I had to read the first line a few times before it made sense in my head. I kept thinking "race" as in the noun rather than the verb :v This looks intresting though. c:
xDD Thanks, I wanted to wait until the very end to say the name of the species but if it was that confusing then I guess it didn't work too well :'D And yeah...I'll work on making it less confusing :v
It's really a shame that you're not in the Creativity Corner that much anymore. This story sounded really interesting too.
