I heard about this a few days ago. My heart goes out to the victims of this terrorist attack. Though, as a frequent traveler myself, I wonder if this'll make security much tougher at airports than it already is.

You know, and I hope I don't offend anyone with this, you'd think that the upped security after the September 11 attacks in 2001 would have prevented this shooting.

I'm actually surprised TSA agents aren't armed. I mean, their job is to protect travelers from people that are a threat, but how exactly are they able to do that when they don't even carry weapons themselves??

They aren't armed? What exactly is a TSA agent? Some sort of authority, I would think? If so, you'd think they would be armed.

TSA agents are basically the security guys at U.S. airports.

Okay, then, yeah, they should be armed.

I'm to the point now the darkest pit in my heart really doesn't feel for these type of incidents anymore. It's terrible what happened, it truly is ... I just don't feel anything anymore. After seeing three 'shooting' threads consecutively ... that was enough to tell me exactly the kind of position the world is in. Security at airports is so tight already you might as well just turn around and leave. I think you should have to go through prior approval by an inspector to get a pass that will allow you to even access an airport ... that should be done monthly (or the month of use). I'm just getting so sick of seeing this kind of crap on the news anymore.

Legend says they already have that kind of inspector, they call' em "metal detectors" or something. Even better, they check you out every freaking time you enter the premises.

A single casualty, a TSA agent at that, is a spectacular outcome given what happened. Looks to me like your TSA agents are doing a bangup job. The news that did break the back of my camel was that one :

They' d put Dumb and Dumber to shame and they' re proud of it somehow, this is gonna end well. My magic 8 ball tells me the NRA is throwing just enough money and learned powerlessness around to kill any reasonable attempt at gun control in the egg, but the second those plastic 3D printers become available for a low price they' ll flip a switch and beg the heavens for gun control. Too late dude.
