Is anyone else experiencing issues with KHV right now, mostly in regards to loading? I'm also receiving this error sometimes:
It's at it again, and it was acting up this morning, too. Super slow loading times on everything, such as visiting another page or submitting a post.
Well, can this be looked into? :) The forum this time was down for a long time. We kept getting the "The connection was reset" page. :(
I haven't gotten this problem at all. Ever since the move to XenForo, I haven't had any problems with KHV.
You guys most likely weren't around when it happened each time, as Stardust also couldn't get connected to KH-V during that last downtime.
The server cannot be fully operational 100% all the time. It usually goes through some intensive processes which case it to slow down at certain times. But the site is mainly okay, and this is nothing to be too concerned over.
The mostly likely explanation I can think of for these seemingly routine slowdowns is that there are a number of processes that need to be run on a regular basis. Things like updating counters, cleaning up forum bulk, etc., all must be run to keep things going snappy. Because these are rather server intensive processes, and they will slow things down, they're typically scheduled when we know most of our users are asleep--so this translates to very early in the morning. In addition to that, occasionally we're doing something to the site, whether it be making general changes, taking backups, changing usernames, etc., which can slow things down. As Chev mentioned, you can't expect any piece of technology to work all the time always. The slowdowns usually pass within a few minutes.
