I really need help I've tried to defeat Sephiroth in the Olympus Coliseum hundreds of times but I keep on losing and even if I try to hit him it doesn't affect him.

Sometimes I don't even get enough time to heal myself and it is really annoying the hell out of me. Do you think you could help me out here???

P.S. Can you also give a few hint for the Hades cup it's also annoying the heck out of me?

    For Sephiroth :

Above all else... be sure to Lock-On to him. Everytime. When he teleports, you lose your Lock-On, but you can actually re-Lock-on before he reappears. Doesn't make sense, but makes the battle a lot easier.

Stock up on Elixirs, and equip Sonic Blade and Strike Raid. If you have it, MP Rage makes you extremely powerful.
I also recommend a long Keyblade that recovers quickly from impact. Metal Chocobo is the best, I think (unless you've got Ultima).

If you use Sonic Blade or Strike Raid, you'll deal tons of damage. Don't worry if his health bar doesn't drop at first ; Sephiroth has about half of an extra life bar. It's hidden, making you think he's invincible, but it's only a trick.

Make sure you know how to use Sonic Rave and Strike Raid. After selecting them, you must not press any buttons. The first box in your Menu will show nothing for a second. Then it will show an option, "Rave" for SB, and "Raid" for SR. Press X when that option is there, and Sora will attack again. You can do it 7 times for SB and 5 for SR, if I'm not mistaken. Once gain, make sure you do this right. Pressing X at the wrong moment = Sora stops the attack.

Sonic Rave and Strike Raid (I'll call them "Limits", because that's what they are) both take up the 4th Menu option. This means that you always have the best one for the situation. For example, if Sephiroth uses Heartless Angel (the 1 HP left move), Strike Raid will show up in your 4th menu option. It works perfect at interrupting his Heartless Angel. If Sephy goes Fire Pillar-happy, Sonic Blade shows up, and it's fun to run through his fire unharmed.

Last but not least, you are invincible during Limits.

    Other random tips :
    - After an Omnislash (when he uses a long slash combo), he always attempts to Heartless Angel you. So do not attack him, and instead move towards the closest edge of the terrain. As soon as he teleports, Lock-On to him, and you can see the Lock-On blue circle show where he lands. If you are near the edge of the terrain, he'll go somewhere there, so you can interrupt his attack.
    - Curaga is your best friend. If you have MP Rage, Curaga, and Second Chance, you are very hard to kill.

And for the Hades Cup, you can actually do the same thing as for Sephiroth. Use those 2 Limits when facing a difficult battle, but keep some MP in case of emergency-Curaga. I think you can also Quit the tournament after every 10 rounds, and continue later.
Fill your's, Donald's and Goofy's item slots with Ethers (don't bother Elixirs), and set them to use them as rarely as possible (if you don't, they'll use them on themselves within 15 seconds). You'll be able to use Limits a lot, because they'll keep restoring your MP.

Finally, do not equip Trinity Limit, Ars Arcanum, and Ragnarok. They're Limits too, but Ars Arcanum and Ragnarok use up 3MP (Sonic blade and Strike Raid use 2MP), and usually aren't as destructive when facing many enemies. As for Trinity Limit... it's awfully useless.
