Kingdom Hearts III Selphie, Tidus, and Wakka

Agreed. I really want to see Tidus and Wakka in KHIII. Selphie too, but we got to see her in KHII, so..... Yeah, and I want them to be able to help Sora when Heartless invade Destiny Islands, or something like that.

 

Yeah that would be cool, to have them be the big FF characters rather than new ones.


Of course that probably won't happen, unfortunately.

 

I liked the implication of Kairi and Selphie's friendship in Kingdom Hearts II. I'd love to know more about what happened to the rest of the Destiny Islands residents after the world was taken by darkness, as well as just see more of Destiny Islands in general. I don't know if we'll see much action from Selphie, Tidus, and Wakka, but if we explore more of Destiny Islands I think it'd be necessary to show the three--because, as far as we're aware, they're the only other islanders aside from our main trio (and Sora's mom).

I think a return to Destiny Islands in KH3 is inevitable. Not only is it our heroes' home, it's Xehanort's birthplace--an attack there (and subsequent final battle) would be very climatic. We did get to see the End of the World version of Destiny Islands in the first game, but I'd really like to see it taken a step further in KH3.

 

Those kids are doing great. They are eating their coconuts, purifying that sea water and trying to build a raft off the island. Wait, sounds a bit like the originals. Scratch that last part then. They probably all look much more mature and have taken over their parents roles on the island. Maybe. I am curious to what they look like now.

 

But seeing them older in KH3 would be just seeing them as they are in their respective games just about, wouldn't it?

 

Not quite. I'd place kh!Wakka at around 14 or 15, he's 24 in FFX. Tidus seems around Sora's age, if not younger. In FFX, he's 17--same goes for Selphie. So they'd be close, but not exactly (assuming KH3 will take place two years post-KH).

Even if they were, though, it'd still be cool to see them function in the KH universe at their in-game ages (like Squall, Yuffie, Cid, Cloud, Aerith, etc. all do).

 

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It'd be pretty interesting to see how they changed, due to different upbringings and all. They already seem just as cool as their Final Fantasy selves.

 

I was actually thinking about this the other day.

During Sora's travels in a certain world, he gets randomly confronted by Tidus. Being upset that he hasn't seen his friends for a set of years, Tidus explains how he went through his own journey gaining a vast amount of power. Because of this, he wanted to settle a rematch with Sora to observe who is truly stronger. Thus Tidus is a boss.

After the fight, Tidus tells Sora that he wants to fight by his side not wanting to loose him again. Sora declined Tidus's offer informing him the journey will be too dangerous to handle. Tidus still insisted, making an argument how Sora, Riku and Kairi randomly disappeared on them and he refuses to see them leave without him again. So Tidus forces himself to be in the main party. As they travel, Tidus would interact with Sora and his affairs.

Waka would be recruited in Riku's Scenario, Selphie can be recruited in Kairi's.

Like the idea?

 

I too would like to see how they have changed over the years. Hopefully they're better fighters than they were on that beach so many years ago.

But then again, I also would like to see the other minor FF characters a bit more often (Seifer, Setzer, etc); Final Fantasy characters have been a bit absent in recent games.

 

Selphie sure, Wakka fine, But Tidus? NO, just NO. I can barely stand any FFX character aside from Auron, but Tidus? NO. And if they do bring him back just don't add in his laugh Square, please I BEG of you.It just makes me cringe.

 

I want to have more optional battles against those three, all three of them being older and stronger hopefully. Would be good to re-live those moments.

If they could be more than simple "filler" characters though, that'd be good. Maybe have some kind of impact on the storyline, perhaps Jeckt could be brought into it or something?

 

His voice in Kingdom Hearts I think was actually a lot less painful than his FFX voice.

 

That's because he was young, if they use the older version of him we're going to end up suffering again.

 

True. And they have been pretty good about getting the voice actors (if they exist) from the original Final Fantasy games, at least in the case of the Gullwings--which were pretty minor roles. Still, it's no guarantee that James Arnold Taylor will do Kingdom Hearts 3, nor do I think his having an irritating voice actor is reason enough to omit him from Kingdom Hearts. But that's just me, I'm also fond of FFX and the laughing scene, but I can understand your point, ha.

 

Lets just say FFX isn't exactly my favorite game. BUT Auron is cool.

They never struck me as particularly significant characters, meant for nothing more than helping the player learning the controls. I really don't care if they appear in KH3 or not. Hayner, Pence, and Olette, however, I'm a little curious about. Seeing slightly older versions of them could be interesting.
