Selective Services

So, did anyone know that you have to sign up for the selective services?
Well not everyone, but guys from the ages of 18-25.
Apparently if we don't, we are breaking the law and we could serve in jail or pay thousands.
Jobs could be in jeopardy, as places may not want to hire you if you don't sign.

Is it really fair to do this?
By the way, this is for U.S citizens. I'm not sure if this is required in other countries.

 

First I've heard of 'selective services'. What are those?
