Need help on my laptop guys. :/ Right now secondary functions like volume control, touchpad enable/disable, and wlan enable/disable aren't working. Any idea what driver/service controls that on an ASUS A52F? And yes I googled it but it never gave me the answer.
Don't try to google it, go to Asus' pages instead. You might be able to enter a serial-no or something and get it all there.
They were updated most of the times automatically. Do you know the specific driver that controls them? I did but I don't know which driver controls the functions.
When I checked the device manager on my Packard Bell, I found a couple of possibilities. First of all, it might be the keyboard driver (though I highly doubt that). More likely, it's under System Devices. The possible one I found for mine was "QPI Physical 0" - something (I'm probably wrong though) If you take a look, you should probably find something that has a name that would make sense. And in any case, this may take a shitload of time, but you could try to update all your drivers. Aaaaand, if it's not the driver, then it might in fact be the hardware itself.
ATK looks to be your hotkey enabler. Really though there isn't harm in just trial and error here. One of them is what you are looking for and there is little harm in updating something even if it doesn't need it. I would just stay away from the BIOS, I doubt it is that and messing that update up could render your computer unusable for a while.
Looking at it myself I said Win7-64 bit, if that isn't your OS it may look a bit different. The general dropdown should just say "ATK". In there it will say "ATKACPI" the first will be driver and utilities while the second will just be drivers. Go for the first one.
