Does anyone think school teaches people too fast? I think so, they rush through the lessons. Thus why I have trouble keeping up in math...

Does anyone else think school teaches too fast??

Unfortunately, it is the school systems fault. The state requires them to complete certain curriclum. If they don't then the kids won't be prepared for the End of Course test....or at least in my state.

Math is insane at some points...

Here, in VA, we 'worry' about SOLs which are quite possibly the most assinine tests that could possibly be given. You dont even have to take the course to 'pass advance.' Finals are important as well because those actually count for a grade for the class 0_0

Actually, they teach at a pretty decent speed.

In high school and even in college, the teachers teach fast because it's material that doesn't take that long to learn. Solving the problems might be a burdensome task, but it only requires some patience and revision to succeed.

    That's my opinion, anyway.

I can tell you one thing! I don't know any thing about social Studies! At the end of a chapter I say to myself. "So what did we learn?"

i honestly dont' think so. i think their pace is fine. i actually realized that i had good teachers cuz the next year, i understood everything right away. i mean, for elementary school, the teachers DO need to slow down quite a bit, it's important that the kids actually know how to read and do math. there's nothing worse for me than tutoring a 4th grader who can't even add. but in high school, the fast pace is just fine by me.

I think they teach too fast, they try to cram so much in in a single class. Some student's can catch on real quick in some classes while others are left behind confused & the teacher moves on before they can fully understand.

EXACTLY. That's why I struggle in Math. I'll JUST start to understand something, then suddenly they move on, and I forget about it...*sigh*

I find Revision sometimes help. Besides, you are reaching a stage where you have to set aside your own homework and revision time.

The teachers are just giving you that push. Some people can handle it and some can't.

yea don't forget that u learning isn't just ur teacher's responsiblity but ur own as well. if u find that ur struggling u gotta make sure to set aside extra time and be prepared to make some sacrifices to correct the problem. for example: something that i didn't really like to do but helped me ALOT: studying on the WEEKEND and doing nothing else. and u can ask ur teacher for tutoring (well....i'm not really fond of this cuz once i asked to be tutored after school, and stupid teacher didn't even show up:mad: )

  18. No, I find it too slow. I only need 30 mins to grasp a subject usually. Yet schols spends 2 weeks+ on the same thing. It's just wasting valuable education time.

My education is fine, , you finish the course early so it gives time to go back over it.

If you are struggling get help outside of lessons from your teacher or someone you know. Like at my level of education they require you to do stuff outside of lessons and do wider reading.
