The time was set, the day had come; I had to brave the school run! I babysat so had no choice And ignoring sense and my inner voice, Inside my car I watched in dismay, Would no one ever want to give way? I realised in sudden fright This was a most confusing fight! With knuckles white and determined face I felt my pulse begin to race. Why did no one seem to care? Playing chicken was the dare. All sense had through the window fled, They raced before the lights turned red. Managing to find a parking spot I found my nerves had all been shot! A newcomer to this vicious game, 'I fail at this' I thought with shame. The art of driving tossed out the door, Force other drivers into walls! No common sense though rage abounds And fight to park nearer school grounds. I barely escape, my car intact. The scariest thing and thats a fact, On getting home in mental pain I realise later I do it all again! ___________________________________________________ Another random poem. I was babysitting and had to take my niece to school. They all drive like idiots and I was in for a shock. I decided to write down my thoughts.
