    Original article.

Anon strikes again. By now it's huge news on the internet, but I thought that I would post this so that the KH-Vids community can discuss it.

Living proof as to why this person is in no way fit to be president! If you can't be responsible enough to obtain a secure source of e-mail then you shouldn't be fit to run a country.

she's not running for President, she's the vice president. and she got hacked, it's probably not her fault.

If a hacker is determined enough, he can get anywhere. And to say that a person shouldn't be president just because they aren't computer savvy is rather ignorant. John McCain can't use a computer, he has no knowledge of how to, he never learned because his arms were so damaged from him being tortured. I don't think John McCain should be president, but just throwing that random fact out there.

It's not surprising hackers decided to do that. But I hardly think a running mate with John McCain would use such a bloody common email source like yahoo to do things like avoid legalities/illegalities. Seriously. lol

Regardless of it, John McCain is a huge waste of a presidency, IMO.

Thank you for having common sense. xD

Just because she got hacked doesn't mean that she's any less capable of being VP. True, she shouldn't use Yahoo in her position since it's rather insecure compared to other email services, but still. Much more Anonymous' fault than hers. >_>

Actually she was stupid. It's not computer illiterate that is the problem. She's a moron. Who runs secure emails through yahoo? That's just unbelievable and I'm very surprised the government actually -let- her do that. Everyone knows that hotmail, yahoo etc are easier to hack. The government actually has its own email and hosting etc but she doesn't want to use it because the emails are recorded. Okay...so why didn't she get something from an ISP like roadrunner? Makes you wonder what she's actually hiding if she has to use a yahoo account in the first place. I understand not wanting everything in an email saved etc but really, ...yahoo?

Anon though had better stop soon doing what they are before they seriously get in some trouble. They are taking a lot of risks and people can isolate where they are and such. They better be really careful themselves and cover what they are doing since people do know where they tend to hang out often online.

The point I was trying to get across, is that she is running for office, regardless of position. I should have worded my statement better so thanks for pointing that out. Having followed the news with regards to this matter, I think she is lacking in common sense. Honestly, who sends secure documents through yahoo? I understand how determined hackers can be, but there are some precautions she could have taken. Like maybe a more secure means of sending e-mail.

Really? provided they protect their IP, not too much can be done. After all, what is Anonymous? It seems to be a spirit, opposed to a group. After all, I could go and hack a site (If I had the skills.), and blame it on Anonymous. But is that one person acting on their own, or the entire group?

Provided they are careful enough, they should be clear. And anyone able to do damage, or hack an account would be knowledgeable enough to protect themselves. The rest of the group are not important enough to be tracked.

Provided someone has the tag of Anonymous, they are safe. Internet crime is rather hard to prove. After all, IP addresses can be faked, and anyone can plead that someone used their address. Unless the actual computer gets put in the hands of the authority, the person will get nothing pinned on them.

They could be caught still if not careful. There are ways. If they keep doing things that gets government attention they will get caught sooner or later. Or sites they frequent that are known will be affected. Either way, it will be nasty.

And I just don't get how Palin or anyone would on a yahoo email use their real names and 'titles' to conduct business with. She should have been smarter than that. Ah well.

well we don't know, but it might've just been for convenience, i mean i assume none of us know what those government email accounts are used for. and for all we know they can be a huge hassle to use (or not). it's not like she did anything out of line by using a different email account anyways.

I saw on the mews today that they traced the source of the hack by IP address. I can't wait to see if really leads them to the hackers. I doubt it will cuz even I have an IP scrambler.
