Rules wouldn't not have been made if that's what they meant. however, that doesn't stop people from breaking them. That's not really something you can control. All rules get broken at some point in time.

Rules have been made to make sure that order is maintained.....but people who don't like the rules, try to circumvent themselves around the rules and then say that they are ment to break......

Not all rules are good forever, or to begin with.

As a general rule of thumb, though, yes, you should follow them.

Rules are made to keep everyone safe and in line. But there are times when your situation makes you break rules in order to do what must be done.

People saying that are just irresponsible pricks. As for the rest I second what Cyanide said.

Rules start out fine, but I think that some of them just get lost track of after a while.

More truthful is "while there are rules, people will break them".

Rules, by design are meant to be adhered to. Rules as a construct of living things will change to accommodate the wishes of the group, just like everything else. Rules aren't meant to be broken but inevitably they will be "broken".

In the short term, people just break rules because playing fair is too hard and rationalize it away.

Rules are there to be followed.
However, some rules are made by the wrong people or can stop something good from happening and breaking them may save a life or two. In that instance, I'd say it's okay to break rules; though that's not what they're made for.

Perhaps this applies, in certain situations. Extenuating circumstances don't happen that often, but should be taken into account when they do occur. Rules aren't "made" to be broken, but sometimes they can be broken in the right way. Besides, some rules are outright silly. For instance, in one state, it is illegal to cross the state line with ice cream in your back pocket.

Some rules are meant to be broken. Others are there to keep order. Although if you're smart...you can probably break a rule a few times becuase that rule is there to keep idiots from abusing something. *Shrugs* The "Laws" of physics can also be broken so...yeah. @-@ I dunno...it's just how you interpret it I guess. Just don't go around destroying rules.

If rules are meant to be broken, then what's the point of making them in the first place? Rules are there for a reason. Without them, everything would be completely chaotic, and nothing would ever get done.

There will always be people who break the rules, and sometimes they may even get away with it. But as I said, they're there for a reason, and if everyone broke the rules and got away with it, then our world would be unable to function.

(Of course, there are some rules that are totally unreasonable, and really shouldn't be followed. It's all about judging whether the rule is helpful, or hurtful.)

Personally some rules are ment to be broken if they are viewed as wrong in some way (for personal reasons, society, ect.)

    oh and,
Rule 34; that should be broken.

Rules are generally in place for a reason. Someone or many people probably screwed up a lot and so that rule had to be in place to warn others to not follow down the line to destruction. I do think that some rules shouldn't -have- to be there, but humanity time and time again seems to prove that 'commonsense' should be renamed 'infrequentsense'. Those of us who do think things through must deal with it.

Some rules are pretty petty and made for the wrong reasons. Also, some rules and/or laws are very outdated and need to be dropped because they are stupid and do not even apply to modern age. Some rules are put in place with no explanation either, and I think it's rather pertinent that if a rule is meant to stop something, it should be explained 'why'. People would be more willing to follow rules if they were not just told "Because I said so".

In the end, rules in extreme situations may have to be bent or ignored. Rules are usually there for the common regular daily occurrences. They are generally, therefore, good to follow.

Rules aren't meant to be broken. They were specifically made to be followed.
