Kingdom Hearts II Roxas and Namine

Hey guys, I just realized something. How can Roxas remember Namine when Sora "forgot" about here in Chain of Memories?

It may be obvious, but I am coming to a complete blank, sorry guys.

 

Because Roxas' memories were never scrambled. Its just that Roxas was lost in Sora's subcontience. Also, Sora never truly did lose his memories of Namine, they were just split up. So even Sora's subcontience would remember Namine. But he wouldnt know her directly.

 

AHHHH I get it.....so its like Roxas holds half of Soras Memories....and Namine just happened to be in Roxas's part?

 

No... Roxas has his own set of memories. Remember, Roxas met Namine in Twilight Town.

 

Yeah....but he remembers after a while...was that from Sora?

 

How can Roxas remember Naminé? o.O He didn't, if you played the game, he first meets her and knows her on the Twilight Town Roxas arc, in the beginning. No more, no less. You also have to keep in mind, that he doesn't have Sora's memories either, which is why he was struggling on who he was. So no, he doesn't remember the blonde girl, or anything of Sora's life, really.

Be clear for a moment. Remember after a while what?

I think he's talking about The World That Never Was.

To claify. Once Namine and Roxas reaveal themselves, they both instantly recognize each other... also they mention that they recognized each other before.

Kairi's sucontios of Namine recognized the Roxas inside Sora. Sora's subcontious of Roxas recognized the inner Namine in Kairi.

Thats why it gives you that sweet moment where we see Namine and Roxas in the ending when Sora finally returns the "Oathkeeper" to Kairi.

 

Roxas has all of sora's memories from kh1.He doesn't have any memories from the com and kh2 series.In the beginning of kh2,Roxas MEETS Namine.He doesn't know her at all...

 

No... I thought the game specifically mentions that Roxas didnt retain his memories because Sora was only breifly a heartless.

 

That is the case, don't worry. He's wrong on that sense.

Sora is the one that doesn't remember CoM, and is not even remembering, the memories are simply locked away in the darkness of his heart. "Forgotten, but not lost" xP, sorry, had to quote.

 

WELL Then how come Goofy and Donald cannot remember? Roxas knew about Namine when he first met her...somehow...I don't know.

 

Roxas didnt know her when they first met her... I think he even said "Who are you?" she then responded "I just wanted to meat you, just this once."

She haunted him in Data Twilight Town thats the only reason he knew who she was.

Goofy and Donald cannot remember because thier Chain of Memories were altered as well.

 

Yeah....I am now refreshed about the Donald and Goofy thing...but, still need info on Roxas. We could go to the archives if you guys want, but I just really want to know for the fact.

Its just wierd because HOW can someone know someone from someone elses memory? He may have not known her at all....but even though Roxas is a game character...I could tell by the look on his face that he knew her.

 

He had no idea who she was. He just knew... "This is the girl who haunts me."

Remember, everytime something bad happened she popped up, usually yelling "Use the keyblade!"

 

Exactly. That is what he said. "This is the girl that haunts me." Doesn't that mean that he knew about her? From Chain of Memories.

Now that Sparks another question:

Where was Roxas during Chain of Memories? Why wasn't he helping Sora?

 

Just because you know about someone, doesnt mean you know who they are.

Also, during CoM Roxas was playing through 358/2 Days. Everytime Roxas see's Namine, he has a completly puzzled look on his face.

This is because Roxas and Namine havent met prior to what you actually see in KH2.

No.

There's nothing more to understand, he never knew her, period. On the first few times, Naminé merely "haunts" him in the days of Twilight Town, never letting him see her, then it isn't until she shows her face and talks to him that he remembers she's that "haunting girl" that kept stalking him, if that's what you're talking about. Nothing to do with Chain of Memories.

So when Roxas meets Namine KH2...thats why he doesn't know her, because Namine is in Castle Oblivion with Marluxia doing her deeds.

So Roxas doesn't meet Namine AT ALL during 358/2 Days?

Yes about the look on his face....Idk how in the world I can tell...I have done it before in real life and its freakin amazing...so I have proved myself to trust my judgement...about myself....that sounds messed up, but think about it.

And about the Chain of memories thing....I think I have the conclusion that he DIDN'T know her until afterward....

Nope. Nada.

He doesn't even know of her existence, and the Org. kept that secret to themselves, considering what might happen if they ever meet or/and if he knew anything about her.

So, no. It isn't until KH2.

 

Ahhhhhhh I got ya. I posted a little story about how I got into the series in the Birth By Sleep section.
