Ok, about 2 weeks ago, my class started Romeo and Juliet.
I find it really annoying to read this and find it harder to understand.
But thankfully our English teacher red it about 5 times and understands it!

After we read a scene, she will translate what we tried to read!:D

Yes, any of Shakeshere's works are difficult to understand. If you want a detailed translations on his works, I suggest you visit sparknotes.com, It helped me a lot when I had to learn about him. There is even a class at my school called Shakeshere, but there is no way in hell I would take it. xD

Btw, why is this in "intelligent dicussion?" I believe it should fall under "anything else"...

I do believe it's Shakespeare and I rather enjoyed reading his works in High School. I never did get to read Romeo and Juliet. We read Taming of the Shrew, Julius Ceaser, and MacBeth though and I've read just about every other play of his on my own time.

Though, my English teachers always gave me the big speaking parts since I actually read the part with emotion.:D

My class just started Romeo and Juliet about two weeks ago. It is very, very hard to understand, but my textbook has a translation of it, and my teacher explains it to us whenever somethings sounds really confusing to us.

EDIT: You guys have trouble understanding this book? You mean the wording/grammar fixations, right? I hope.

Pretty much Romeo and Juliet is about how these kids want to be married and have sex but being from different families, it's not likely to happen.

    Their solution?

LET'S COMMIT SUICIDE! CAUSE IF WE CAN'T BE MARRIED TO EACH OTHER WE CAN'T BE MARRIED TO ANYONE ELSE! 8D

    Romeo and Juliet. Hated it.

No, not because I couldn't understand it, I could. It's just one of the worst love stories I've ever read. I don't know why people say it is.

Romeo was a sex-crazed imbecile who didn't know the definition of love, and Juliet was a woman of cowardice who constantly ran away from her problems.

Shakespeare is a good poet, and some of his darker works are good. But I'm sorry, when it comes to love, he has lovely words, but really crappy stories.

Romeo and Juliet is a terrible story that tends to bore you more than interest you, even at the most "loving" parts.

Pssh on Romeo and Juliet, you want a good Shakespeare story?

Read A Midsummer Night's Dream. Now that is a good one. Robin GoodFellow/Puck FTW

I found King Lear and Othello to be his better ones.

The story is ok... IMHO characters like Tybalt and Mercutio were WAY more interesting ten Romeo and Juliet themselves.
