i just got rock band 2 and i was wondering... first off i have an xbox 360 and i do not have xbox live and i was wondering if it is possible to download new songs off the internet and put it on a disk or flash drive and then put them on my 360 hard drive.... so i could play new songs that way(preferably free)
No, there is no possible way. You cannot download a song from the internet, and try to get it on the Xbox. It might play on the Media Player, but not on Rock Band 2 itself. There is a Song-Maker, where you can look up the tabs for certain songs. But other then that, you cannot do anything about it unless you do it from Via-Xbox Live. Because the fact that Xbox Live downloads all the tabs, and the parts where the Guitar, Drums, etc. Don't play, incase you mess up, and you can hear the rest of the parts that arn't playable, or someone else is playing. And I even think it can only work by the Game Designer's company. Sorry.
The only way to download any kind of online content onto the Xbox 360 is with Xbox Live and a Hard Drive. Besides, why would Microsoft or Harmonix let people get that many songs for free?
Yeah it sucks... Microsoft kills me with the points. I just bought more the other day and I'm already almost out. xD (Mostly because I downloaded the CoD: WaW Map Pack 2). Anyways for Rockband it's best to try to unlock all the songs (I think there is 85) and maybe if you can spare 20 bucks, maybe download an Iron Maiden or Foo Fighters Album. There's no free way of doing it though, just as there is no free way of getting a custom gamer picture.
