I know the main character(s) in 358 days is/are roxas, org 13 and the 14th member, but I think Nomura left out a major plot hole thats really starting to annoy me...

when the hell does riku get way to the dawn?

he has souleater in the beginning-middle of kh2...but he shows up at the nobody castle and all the sudden has way to the dawn...I cant see any of the other upcoming games dealing with this, both birth by sleep and coded are back in time/an "alternate area"...

He gets it when Roxas merges with Sora. Thus a keyblade goes back to its original users choice.

Sora uses Ven's Keyblade, and Riku uses Terra's like it was supposed to be.

That hasn't been confirmed...we don't know that for sure. It is a possibility though. Also Ven has a different keyblade than Sora, same goes with Terra and Riku.

Hrmm have you played KH: COM? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was pretty sure that at the end of Reverse/Rebirth was when he received Way to Dawn. I think he had to choose between the door to darkness and the door to light, but instead Riku said he would choose neither and decided to walk between the two doors. (I forgot if they were paths to light and darkness or doors, but it was something like that.) Dawn is the time between darkness and light and symbolizes Riku's path between darkness and light, hence the name "Way to Dawn"

Ah and I think 358/2 days starts while Sora is sleeping (Sora was asleep for 1 year right?), so by that time Riku should have gotten Way to Dawn already so I doubt that Riku obtaining Way to Dawn will be in the game.

No. Riku obtains it in KH2. When you fight him in KH2 in the land of dragons, he has the Soul Eater.

Oh really? What was the whole choose between two paths then?

By the way if it was in KH2 that he obtained it, that still means it won't be in 358/2 days since that game is set before KH2.

The two paths was his choice between light and darkness. He chose both

Hrmm well I think when Riku chose the path to dawn, that created the potential to obtain Way to Dawn. However his resolve was not firm enough to call out the Way to Dawn/change Soul Eater to Way to Dawn until he met Sora again. The path of dawn would kind of be like traveling down the path of darkness to reach light (dawn= dark->light) and Riku was still trapped in the darkness until he met Sora again (he stayed in the darkness and used Ansem's dark powers). Probably seeing Sora awoke within him the desire to keep going down the path of dawn, because remember how DiZ said the mission he gave Riku made Riku go back into the darkness? Well after seeing Sora again, Riku was able to go back to his original form. Well I don't know I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say.

    cool beans

    uh..........
Riku gets it at the end of CoM Reverse Rebirth, although he doesn't actually have it, he would get it some time in the near future, for he chose the path: The Way To Dawn. I think that when he was in his Ansem form, when he used it in KH2, he was actually in his heartless form like thing, therefore the Souleater was at his disposal, and if he'd used Way to Dawn, Sora wouldn't have noticed the keyblade, and wouldn't have thought it was Riku. Plus, just like Sora has like a billion different keyblades to choose from, you really think Riku isn't the same? He probably had more than we know at his disposal.

Yup that's what I was saying too. I think he got it at the end of CoM Reverse Rebirth. I'm glad you and I are on the same page. :)

Yeah I think it's on 358/2 Days. Remember in KH:COM while King Mickey and Riku find Diz and he asks them: "Will you choose the road to light or the road to darkness?" and Riku says: "I'll pick the middle road" and then the story might continue in 358/2 Days. He means Twilight so he might have gone to Twilight Town and something happened there which it will might be sawn in 358/2 Days and he obtained it!

Riku did not have Soul Eater changing to WttD until you see him at the Castle in TWTNW. Soul Eater was still the same in Land of Dragons and it's most likely that way as Riku continues on through the story but changing slowly until he is seen again at TWTNW. It seems unlikely he would have Way to the Dawn in 358/2 Days for that reason. Even in the fight against Roxas at the beginning he takes Oblivion that Roxas throws at him instead of using the weapon he has so I doubt WttD would make an appearance there. I'm also pretty certain that Riku doesn't have Soul Eater and then a separate WttD weapon hiding out as in a scene to Sora at the near end of the game he identifies Way to the Dawn as Soul Eater.

I think the symbolism worked that Riku chose the path of Twilight to the Dawn...and as he was going through the game of KH2 he was progressively moving to use his Darkness but also use his Light and so he was symbolically changing mentally as was his weapon. At least that's how I took it to mean any way.

Yea he had to chose a path, but he actually said "The Road to Dawn" not "The Way to the Dawn". Anyway, the paths were metaphors for whose side he would go to, darkness or light. He chose neither and then you have KH2's plot.
