Kingdom Hearts II Riku blindfolded

In KH2, when Riku goes bact to his orginal form, he has a blind fold on. But in this, he takes his blindfold off. Is it just a msitake?

When he returns to his true form, he has his cloak and blindfold on. Afterwards, he removes the blindfold and the cloak, going with Sora to fight Xemnas.

 

I know. But during the fight with Roxas before he looked like xehanort's Heartless, he took off his blindfold. But when he went back to his normal form, he still had it on.

 

I guess he caught it again when he was on the air! XD

 

I'm sure Square noted that Riku took his blindfold off, and that it appears again when he transformed back into his true form. The blindfold is a symbol showing that Riku is hiding his own darkness from himself. I guess Square just made it so that it magically reappeared, so Mickey can comment it, to let us understand more of why he was wearing it.

 

The blindfold is very simbolic. When he takes off his blindfold when fighting Roxas, its supposed to be hes no longer blind to the darkness inside him. He accepts it.

When he takes it off after returning to his normal form. Its symbolizes that he is no longer going to be blind, and deny who he is.

Even Kairi said, "His eyes couldnt lie, he could not lie to himself of who he truly was." or something like that.

So, he was "blinded" in two ways. And he had two blindfolds hiding that.
