    Ugh, I love his work so much but I kind of want to punch him now. Then give him a high 5 and play DDR with him.

    I suppose if we go with the most general sense "anime" simply means anything animated, but in real talk we all know that the term, at least in the western sense, has been narrowed down to more or less "cartoons from the moon kingdom". You don't go around saying "have you checked out my favorite anime, adventure time?". Would you call adventure time an anime? Language is flexible and weird, but when it comes down to brass tacks, you can't really just pick and choose what american-produced shows you want to refer to as "anime" just because they use a certain style of animation.

    Monty uses an anime-esque style, but it's produced in America, so RWBY is as much an "anime" as shows such as avatar and spongebob are. As in, not.
