The name splains it all. Answer the riddle above you and then post a riddle of your own.

I have a face that is bright, appear mostly at night, and when in the day I block it out. What am I???

A shadow? Hahah Idk that one.

I lay upon the water as I catch the rays of the enorumous sun; however I do not catch the rays alone, for I am small and cannot catch the rays by myself. What am I?

I think this is the riddle of the sphinx and the answer is a person - they crawl on 4 legs when they are a baby, walk on two legs as an adult and then are old and the third leg is a walking stick.

This one however, I am struggling and don't know.

What does man love more than life,
Fear more than death or mortal strife,
What the poor have, the rich require,
    And what contented men desire,
What misers spend, and spend thrifts save,
And all men carry to the grave?

Anyone else dare to solve my riddle??
    Is loved, and feared.
Is desired by contenders, spended by misers, and saved by thrifts.

    It is "The soul".

I believe this riddle is based of the past time of fishing.

You are both incorrect, it's not the soul, try again?

    The part of the bird
that is not in the sky,
which can swim in the ocean
    and always stay dry.
    What is it?

No, it is not bird poo poo, try again.

This one's esier than my other two, which still need to be solved:

Yep it is the riddle of the sphinx.

I don't think it is the soul, because in theory, men don't carry theirs to the grave. The answer I first thought of was money, but then I realized there was a direct contradiction to that too... the 5th line. Misers do not spend money, they collect it and hate spending any of it, and spend thrifts impulse buy whatever they can afford...
Also people haven't carried money to the grave for a long time and contented men are happy as they are so they don't need it.
and the rich don't require money. And not many people fear it...

But the 5th line is the most intresting because the men are doing the opposite of what you expect with this. Given that I know that misers don't spend anything and spend thrifts don't save anything the answer that fits in with the riddle is nothing.

Man loves life so much there is nothing he loves more,
Fears nothing more than death or mortal strife,
The poor have nothing (in theory), the rich require nothing (in theory),
And what contented men desire nothing (because they are happy as is),
(True) misers spend nothing, and (true) spend thrifts save nothing
And when you die you take nothing to the grave in a symbolic sense because you don't exist so you can't give anything...

    That's how I see it.

Both correct, well done - I'll add another riddle when I find a good one and the 'a part of a bird...' one still needs solving.

    EDIT:
    Fee Fi Fo Fum,
First I hear my dinner come.
    Fo Fum Fee Fi,
Then I smelt it going by.
    Fi Fo Fum Fee,
Then I saw it try to flee.
    Fum Fe Fi Fo,
Then I touched it with my toe.
    Fee Fi Fo Fum,
Now I'll taste it - yum yum yum!
I have used five things today
With one name. What is it prey?
Look above to find a clue
Or my dinner will be - YOU!

It is your senses yay!!! Hear, smell, saw, touch, taste.

I love that my thread has some people now :)

    I am big, yet small,
    in the light of day,
    when the sun goes down,
    I seem to run away.
    What am I???

You are a shadow, I think

In marbe walls as white as milk,
Lined with skin as soft as silk,
    Within a fountain crystal clear,
    A golden apple does appear.
No doors are there to this stronghold -
Yet thieves break in and steal the gold.

    Nope, incorrect, try again.

    I like this one:

What force and strength cannot get through,
I with a gentle touch can do,
And many in the street would stand,
Were I not a friend at hand

    Little Nancy Etticoat,
    In a white petticoat,
    And a red nose,
    The longer she stands,
    the shorter she grows.
