So i posted my fanfic(the one i posted here) on an official fanfic site and I received a weird review.

The review said that the main character was to cliche from the original main character. Now my question is, isn't that the way it should be?

They might be trying to say that you just went along with what the character always had been and hadn't built upon them at all. Yes, it's important to stay true to the characters you are using in a fanficition, but you need to add more depth to them.

For example, if I was writing a Kingdom Hearts fanfiction, I would explore Sora's character more. It wouldn't just be "He is a boy. He has blue eyes and brown hair. He is the keyblade-wielder." I wouldn't leave it at that. Perhaps I'd have him go through a conflict with Riku, or Kairi, and develop his character more.

    That's just my guess.
