People need to like your posts, click the Karma button at the bottom of your post, and then rep you.

    Any questions?

Yeah, can I get more rep?

    J/K.

Like Rosey said, people must like your post, then they click the Karma button at the bottom of your post.

And be careful how you acquire rep.

If the staff think you're cheating, they'll take your rep down to 0.

Yeah, rep is a really good thing. If you post intelligent stuff enough then you get it.

By the way, does it automaticly add whoever gave it if you put a comment, or do you need to add it? Becuase I have two with a name and comment, then just a completely blank one.

Ah. So I need to add my name to the comments.

Also, is there a limit to how much you can write?

That's happened to me too... I think it's because they have no rep points, thus they have no rep power to give out....

Probably because they haven't been here enough to get rep points to give out.

Exactly what L_F and Amber said, you /need/ rep points to be able to /give/ rep points. The more points you have the more you give. So if you got no points it is because the person who repped you didn't have enough points themselves.

Also, asking for rep, even as a joke, is taken seriously. So don't do it.

Hmm, I am curious though on that if someone 'reps' you and you receive no points, how -are- they doing it? When I am out of rep points it says that I have no rep points remaining to hand out in some way that I cannot recall the actual wording. So if we get such a warning, how is it some can give out 0? Can you give out 0 if that is all you have each day?

You can rep people only a certain number of times a day, that is standard for all members across the site, however, it is the points that you give wihich are different for each person.

So say for example, I was repped by a newbie, they would have no points of their own and so their rep value is 0, they have no points and so cannot give points, they give you a rep but it is valueless.

Then say I was to rep that newbie back, I have a higher number of rep points and have been here for a long enough time to be able to have built up a high rep value. So they would gain points because I can /give/ numerical value to the rep.

The number of times you can rep is standard, but just because they have no numerical value, doesnt mean that they can't click the karma button and approve your comment.
