Forgive meh fer meh outburst earlier, although I still disagree with the system overall. Are only certain higher members able to increase/decrease rep at will or is everyone just able to go about ramparting on each other's gauges just for the stupidest reasons?

Anyone can give or take away repp...

Basically the higher repped you are, the more repp you give and or take away when you repp or derepp.

There are some other factors taken into account...

But, you should know that Mods and Admins tend to give more, I'm not sure if that s because of thier rank or because all the mods and admins tend to be higher repped.

Also, all repp related questions should go here...
    http://www.kh-vids.net/showthread.php?t=23490

Some people do rampart everyone's gauges, but handing out repp for no apparent reason is called "repp whoring" and is against forum policy.

Also, repp can only be given to the same person once every so often, this was put into place to minimize "rep ramparting" as you put it.

Also... where is your suggestion? I didn't see it. Did you want repp to be limited to once every so often? Its already there.

First of all, any one can add rep or subtract rep from your total. Second of all, it is usaly given when someone made a funny post or was nice or helpful. It is usaly negative rep when something ignorant, offensive, or just plain stupid was said, sometimes these things were said in the past and some people don't like you for it so they de-rep you. Third, I'm sick of your complaining about the rep, it does not define you in any way. If someone de-repped you fine, get over it and move on. I'm not trying to be mean, but you seem to be venting and trying to get rep removed or changed because you were de-repped.

As much as I agree with GX, there's nothing wrong with reporting dereps that are undeserving. Lots of people get derepped for reasons that they shouldn't be, and many members on this forum seem to just hand out negative rep simply because they 'hate' certain individuals and end up derepping them on posts that haven't broken any rules.

Of course, though, if this is a problem you've encountered, Kalhedgie, you should PM a mod/admin about it, not make a thread about it.

Ye doesn't have to say it like that. Rather, I'd find it rather better to report rather than to PM. I huess I shoulda asked that. o: I ain't tryin' to define mahself, I'm just simply expressin' my complaint.

Well, I meant that you should 'report' the matter by PM. There isn't a function on the forum that is specifically designed to tell a mod/admin that you've been unfairly derepped (none that I know of, anyway).

The only things you can 'report' are posts, but that obviously has very little to do with addressing unjust derepped.

Then it should go into "Detailed Explaination on Rep" unless your petitioning to have something changed about rep, which I doubt would ever happen.

I don't like the rep system either, as I do believe its flawed, but not that bad.

If you have any complaints about a dereppin' than yes, you do PM a staff member. The whole point is to discuss it in private rather than makin' a show out of it. Cause if you complain in puplic it will b seen as some form of beggin'. It's sad, but it's true. It's been done loads of times.

If you don't like the system then ignore it. It's a nice feature to have, but some folk obviously have to abuse it.

The only thing with reporting dereps is that although some people have fair enough reasons for derepping, they leave mocking or silly comments (this includes me 8D) and if they get reported, the mod/admin who checks it out will see the dumb comment and think it was an unjust derep, even though it's not. So I think people who get derepped should just SUCK IT UP. <:3

WEll, normally we ask for the thread/post the derep was for, just to check it...or so we should. Right staff?

Aye, listen to Mish. Suck it up.
