No Thanks Rep increase.

The amount of rep we can give is too small. What i mean by this is that the number of users that one can give reputation to in a period of 24 hours is too small. Increase it?

 

I don't really think it's too small most users don't go on rep-sprees lol so I guess it stops one person giving rep to everyone in one day....

 

Believe it or not i was actually giving rep to people i believed to deserve it. I just thought alot of people deserved it lol it's not MY fault if people are too epic XD

 

What Docyx said basically. I don't think it's too small unless user's go on a rep sprees, no need to really increase it in my opinion.

 

The more rep you have the more you can give. And I think it's so the server doesn't overload or something. Plus I think reducing the waiting period was already rejected. Not 100% sure though.

 

A limit was put on the rep since a lot of members were dishing it out like monopoly money during the rep whoring days of 09...or was it 08? xD. Anyhoo, if you're struggling to give out rep then maybe you should reconsider what you consider to be a rep worthy post or wait till the next day.

Well, I don't really rep that much, so it wouldn't really affair me ... although I think this was put in place so that the server doesn't overload, and also to attempt to stop whoring when Rep actually mattered.

 

Right now, you can only give 10 reps out in a 24 hour period. I think that's pretty reasonable. It was added to, like others said, limit repwhoring.

As for how much rep you give out, that's based on a lot of factors: rank, time you've been registered, how much rep you have, how many posts you have, etc.

 

Basically this. If you want to give someone rep but can't for any resaon (too few users in between or too many given that day) then make a note of it and give it to them when you are able. If you are finding yourself to be in that situation constantly then you need to be looking at what really deserves it.

 

Can you make it so that we can write a note and save it in the Cp?

Think about it. You could trade rep for rep and you could boost yourself like you were taking steroids or something. I think rep should be earned over time but a small increase would be very nice.

 

I think everyone is just posting here for the free Post counts, and perhaps to get repped. All those in agreement, rep me -Shot-

 

Rep isn't even used for anything special these days except for a pin. I don't see the harm in letting members give more rep. It might even make members friendlier to each other >>
I mean, what's the harm in letting someone rep as many times as they want (or at least more than ten) a day? They show more people they like their post or are becoming friendlier with someone.
As long as they can't rep the same person more than once quicker than they can now, I support this.

 

Rep hasn't been a requirement for Prem for a long while now.

Allowing someone unlimited ability to rep would mean they could literally go through the member list and quickly rep random people in order to rep a certain person as many times as they'd like.
Like say I wanted to rep Sabby, I could rep her, go to the member list, rep an unlimited number or people, rep Sabby again, etc.
If that makes sense.

 

Does this section actually give post counts? I was under the impression that it did not. I guess I'll find out after this post.

EDIT: I was correct. For whatever reason, this forum does not give post count. I'm not sure why, 8ut that's for another thread.

I 8elieve he was referring to the Legendary Pin, which requires 2000 posts and 1000 reput8ion points to o8tain.


As for the suggestion: I do not support it, for I do not acknowledge a pro8lem. Currently, I never rep more than ten people per day, and that's a limit that I find is more than fair.

Increasing how much rep is given could be worthwhile for newer users. Not an exponential though; just a boost at the beginning. Start everyone off with a certain amount of rep? Somewhere 8etween two and five as a starting point seems fair enough, and would stop those intolera8le grey gems from appearing on my profile.

 

Because when the posts don't count then people can make post that just say "I agree with this idea", while if it counted then those would probably be deleted. It just works better here when the posts aren't counting. Also, people would post ridiculous suggestions (*cough*pornsection*cough*) just to boost their post count.

On this suggestion: Not necessary, I don't see a reason as to why anyone would rep more than 10 times a day unless they're repping them just to receive rep back.
