No Thanks Rep Given

I thought it would be a good idea if you could see the latest rep you've given people. That way you can keep track of who you've reped recently and know not to try and rep them for a while. I know that this can be implamented because I've seen it on other Vbullitin Forums.

It'd be a nice little feature, but I honestly doubt we'd get it implemented. There are a few other add-ons the forum has been trying to get put on, but someone hasn't decided to do it yet. >>

 

I'd be all up for this. It kinda gets annoying when you want to rep someone but you find out you've already repped them.

Of course, if it's another one of those luxuries we could do without...

I agree that this could be something useful for members...or a simple piece of paper could work wonders as well.

I'm for it, but I agree with DF, it's a luxury that isn't necessarily needed.

 

Paper is for awesome, highly motivated individuals. Or tree killers D:

I think it's a good idea, and since it could implemented since clawtooth has proven it, I say go for it.

I am going to disagree with this idea, I find it quite pointless actually, it only takes a couple of seconds for you to realise you have recently repped someone, it isn't as though it takes hours to find out. I think it would be a waste of time that could be better spent on other features.

I love this suggestion, I've always been wondering how many other people I have to rep in order to rep someone I repped earlier....
And at least we know this one CAN be done :D

 

This is a gd idea...but it's really quite pointless. If u really want to rep some1 badly, write urself a note or something. It doesn't have to b a piece of paper or anything, just pm urself or do something with ur imagination. :sideways:

However, I think it would b nice if we EXTENDED the "recent rep" list on our user cp...then again, that seems quite pointless too :sideways:

 

I guess you're right about that.

But I was thinking of a possibility -the idea is great, because it benefits the rep system, that it will get some of the member's attention about it, making rep more useful.

 

Logically speaking, if you are reading something in a topic and decide you want to rep someone for it, you click on the rep button and it tells you straight off you've repped that person and cannot do so again for a time. It would take longer to leave the article, go to User CP or wherever it is that this list would be on and look to see if you had repped the person already than to just attempt to do so there where the article is that you want to rep. The only people this might be useful for are people that want to rep someone just because they can which kind of berefts the point of repping any way.

On another note, it might be a nice thing to add to the rep section just to see when browsing through your User CP area a history of what you had done as you can do with seeing former messages sent. That really is the only advantage I can see from it at all because it takes more work to look up that list than it does to just find out in the topic you are at. So, in the end, I think it's rather useless as a key function for aid, but it could be good to have just to browse your own activities. I'm therefore not really for it as there's no need at all, but not shooting it down entirely either.

 

well.....i would personally like to have it. but i'm also fine with how things are now.

 

I have to agree with CtR, it's just not worth it, I mean it's like 2 seconds before you realise that you can't rep them, It's just another feature that isn't worth the time of putting on the site

 

it really is a two way thing... it is really easy to see if you have repped someone recently... but it could be nice...

 

I would also like to add that the people who are saying they want this feature so that they know how many people they have to rep before they can rep a certain person again, erm hate to disapoint you kiddies but that classes as abusing the rep system. Rep should be given for good posts, or because someone did you a favour etc etc etc, repping someone just for the sake of repping is kind of defeating the object. The fact that having a list of who you recently repped could help people to abuse the system (and yes I know that not everyone would) makes me think it isn't such a great idea.

But i agree fullly with you. Members would use it to their advantage to abuse it more.

 

I'm sorry guys but, I don't really think this is something to use time and space on. As earlier stated in the thread it isn't hard to find out who you've repped.
