Help Rep Gems

This isn't something of great importance but I need things cleared out out of curiosity.

Reading the FAQ about rep gems, it says that you get a new gem with every 100 rep points you have. Well, I have over 1,000 but I'm still stuck with only 8 gems.

I would like to know why this is. Do I need to give out more rep in order to get those missing gems? Or do I need to receive more gems?

 

After a while, that changes.

1. -100 = User fails at social skills.
2. -50 = User is blissfully ignorant.
3. -10 = User needs to think of others.
4. 0 = User's future has not been written yet.
5. 10 = User is starting to make an impact.
6. 50 = User is rising the ranks.
7. 150 = User has that unique charm.
8. 250 = User knows what they're talking about.
9. 350 = User is fun to have at parties.
10. 450 = User is socially entertaining.
11. 550 = User is a KH-Vids fanatic.
12. 650 = User is super special awesome.
13. 1000 = User is destined for ballads.
14. 1500 = User is an undeniable friend to many.
15. 2000 = User is a forum legend.
16. 5000 = User is an omni ultra epic individual.
17. 6000 = User is flying top gun.

 

This really is not of any explanation as to why I have 8 really.

 

Just because your title changes doesn't mean you get a rep gem, iirc. When you first register, your rep is gray. I don't believe it turns green until you reach 10, or maybe 50--not entirely certain. So it takes a few levels for you to accumulate them. But yeah, your gems are accurate, it's just a complicated system, hah.

 

I see. But if that's the case, then why have I noticed that Dinny possibly has around the same points but has more rep gems?
I am sorry if I am causing any trouble >< I don't mean to haha. Just want as clear answer as I can.

 

Ah alright, just found what it is exactly:

One green gem is given for each 100 reputation points.
When you pass 500 points, this changes; a bright green gem is given for every 200 points.

So yeah, there is no set correlation with titles and gems, though many of them will fall that way. Dinny may have more than you because her reputation is slightly higher.
