Kingdom Hearts III Release Date Predictions

Game's are normally in development for several years before anything's really announced or shown. That being said, the trailer for KH3 didn't show any gameplay, it was just a cutscene. So when it said "In Development," it's a safe bet to say they are somewhere in the middle of that span of time. Still fleshing out the game, with proper story, art, etc. worked out. I'd give it another 3-5 years before it gets released. How long do you guys give it?

 

Well going by the one KH game a year plan my prediction is:
2013: 1.5 ReMIX
2014: 2.5 ReMIX
2015: KH for PC Browsers
2016: Kingdom Hearts III
That's a good three years to develop the game so I think it has a good chance to release then. Whenever it does release though it'll probably follow the pattern of the last few games
Japan release: around March or April
Other countries: between June and October
unless it gets an international release (which would be awesome) in which case I could see it coming either in Summer season or Holiday season.

 

2015
2.5 comes out next year, trailers shown at e3 and tgs
then it comes out late 2015, or maybe early 2016
There seems to be a trend with September releases for KH games

 

My guess is also 2015. KH 2.5 presumible will be out next year sometime in 2014, giving enough time for old timers and newcomers to the KH series to enjoy the games and grasp whats going on. so a release date for KH3 in 2015 makes sense to me anyway.

Nomura said he felt the Kingdom Hearts III trailer was put out a bit too early, so I don't think we'll be seeing the game's release anytime in 2014. He knows, however, how anticipated the title is and how long fans have been waiting, not to mention that Square could really use some major title releases.

I don't think Kingdom Hearts III will release until after Final Fantasy XV comes out, so I'm going to bet late 2015 at the earliest for Kingdom Hearts III.

 

Oh yeah, no, 2014 is COMPLETELY out of the question
But considering the planning there has been, plus the fact that they're using ane xisting engine, I really can't see it taking much longer than that. EARLY 2016 at latest, I'd say... for Japan at least.

 

I can see it being released at 2016. 2.5 REMIX on 2014, x [chi] for 2015, and KHII on 2016. Probably around August-October when it's released in America.

 

Don't quote me on this since I'm only saying what my friend who is a product tester told me, but he said KH3 will be out near Christmas, so maybe it could be a launch title? Like I said, this might not be true at all.

If by some divine miracle this comes true I will be ecstatic, but since it won't I'll just cross my fingers for nothing more than 2-3 years.

This also may be wrong but you never know, also when it said it's 'In development' who's to say they aren't just putting in the final touches?

 

You do realize that most sites tend to be extremely optimistic in their release date estimations in other to encourage pre-orders, right? Unless they do some kind of stealth release, a 2013 launch is pretty much out of the question, especially with KH's September release trend and the PS4's November release date.

 

Like I said it may be wrong, but I'm just going by what I've heard/read and both are saying this year.

 

Nomura himself said the game was a bit early to announce. Meaning it was still in early development. Also, that's a placeholder date.

 

But didn't he also say that FF13v now FF15 has been cancelled?

There have been several rumours about Versus XIII being cancelled in the past but Nomura has never said that Versus XII/XV was cancelled. And as it was shown at E3 and is confirmed to be at TGS it's very safe to say it's still not cancelled
