    Do you believe in reincarnation?

    A new life after death?

Reincarnated into anything, animals or another human OR even a plant.

Personally, I believe in reincarnation, I dont know why though.

I don' believe in reincarnation. I know many things about budism and relative religions. I know exactly what reincarnation is and how it works and i don't believe in this.

Out of every religion and every belief out there, this is by far the one I would LIKE to beleive the most. However I cannot, riencarnation seems completely impossible and farfetched.

Like in the magic thread, I would only believe in it if there was real proof...
I'm not sure if I would want to believe in it or not though.

Well I would think that because we are mere beings of matter, that our cells would literally cease to function (our brain, heart, etc..).

Though, I KNOW there has to be reincarnation...because there's not a reason why we could just end our lives. There has to be more--after death.

Like maybe our universe takes us somewhere else... :/

Hard to determine. I'd say I do believe in it.

I like proofs, which is probably why I'm a rather non-religious person and consequently don't have much of a belief in reincarnation.

It's a very interesting theory and for the most part, it can seem to be a possibility. But because no one can ever really know if they've been incarnated, just how someone couldn't tell us if heaven existed after they died (if it does, in fact, exist), it's hard to find evidence.

  7. I do beleive this because to be honest surely there must be something you're original death must their not> Of course a new body would be needed due to cell/ micro-organism decrease/shut down.
But yes I do beleive in this.

Yes, I do believe in reincarnation. I believe that when you die your spirit or soul (whichever you prefer to call it) leaves your body. It must go somewhere, and being put into another life form is a reasonable explanation for where it goes.

Well, to beleive in riencarnation you must beleive in the soul. And to be honest, a soul is not a solid part of our anatomy.

So? That doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. We lose a bit of weight after we die (when the body's still intact), maybe the soul is a bit more material than we think.

Surely if we were just the sum of our solid anatomy, we all have the same organs, bones etc, so we would behave in a similar mindless fashion. We are all distinct personalities, with different memories, ideas and beliefs. This surely means there is a possibility of something more guiding us. The soul isn't material, and can't be seen, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. Science doesn't hold all the answers yet.

Well a mind and a soul are two different things. The different distinct personalites and memories and traits we share is only due to imperfections in our mind. All our brains were meant to be created the same, however, the brain is SO complex, it's nearly impossible to get it right. Therefore each mind is different in many different ways. We think differently and our minds work differently, these differences are what I beleive define a "soul".

You also have to bring into consideration the thoughts prosesses of our ancestors. The passage of genes will define who we are as well.

And also, it seems to me that if your "soul" was passed into the body of something else, there would have to be a fixed number of souls, otherwise the number would keep growing and that would lead to many problems. Even the "soul" has to die at some point.

And as a person, if you were riencarnated, and your soul was placed into another life, it would just seem to me more like you were reborn. If your soul the thing that defines you as people say was put into something else then you and that thing would think EXACTLY alike. And that's just not the case. And becuase it's not the case then that means that a "soul" either does not exist, or if it does, is not as benificial to who your are then first stated.

Well when you die your muscles, blood, and everything else stop acting. That can be a reasonable explanation for why you could lose some weight.

And besides, your body continues burning calories even minutes after death, which is another factor there.

EDIT: To add on to that, Cin, because we think so differently, we all have different perceptions of a 'soul', thus the soul is indefinitely hundreds of different things, by what all of us think.

    I half do, but I half don't.

It's like...I half believe in God, yet I believe in reincarnation. I don't know if this is just part of teenage confusion or...

I would really like to believe in reincarnation, but I am not sure. It is a bit out of the thinking square. But there is no proof that it is or isn't real. So I will say...................... I do not know.

I believe in it but I'm not a Buddhist. I just believe it for some reason, not exactly sure why.
