No Thanks Regarding the Spam Zone...

I've noticed that KHV has been sluggish for me recently, and other people have said the same thing. Perhaps deleting threads in the Spam Zone may help?
I mean, great, we've got a thousand pages of spam, but it kills my computer's loading. So maybe all the old threads before a certain date can get deleted?

 

I have to agree. We shuold delete the old ones and make sure they aren't working for like the rest of it's life.

 

I agree.The loading takes forever.Then eventually it says it can't load the page.So I think it is best that we delete the old threads.

I wonder if maybe the size of the spam zone could be causing the DBE?

But anyways, if deleting old threads will help, let's go for it. The only drawbacks would be that some people like referencing old threads and laughing at the memories they bring, and the staff would have to go through and actually delete them...​

 

thing is, noone can agree to a date, so it never gets done. If you can show me that you all can agree on a cut off date, I will pitch it to the staff.

 

How about everything before January of 2008 besides the popular/stickied topics? Sort of like a yearly cleaning thing?

The oldest thing there is from October of '06. =\

Like, for today the cutoff date would be 5-20-07, and tomorrow it could delete all the threads from 5-21-07?

And would it delete by itself, or would a staff member have to do it maually?​

 

Actually I had a thought where we create a thread (in the spam zone of course) and have it deleted 10 days after its been made?

How about deleting threads that haven't been posted in since 07?

Then next year in May 09, delete all the ones that have been inactive since December 08...​

 

How about anything that contains a post made by Roxas in it? Since those are the ones that end up getting necro-bumped from what I've been noticing.

Agreed. I too vote for anything from before JAN '08. It definitely would help A LOT. But can it also be threads from not only the spam zone, but everywhere else? Including the locked threads (even if it was recently locked)?

 

The problem with deleting threads everywhere else is the simple fact of post count.

Someone who made most of their posts in 06 or 07 would get a severe decrease in their post count...​

 

No, I would leave it as being done jan 1st of each year, spamzone only since thats the biggest place.
