How can you tell if you really love someone or you're just experiencing something fake?

I don't believe in 'one true love'. I think there are many people in the world with compatibility possibilities. Hormones are a different subject. Hormones are quite good at clouding your judgment on those of your sexual preference. You might feel attracted to someone who you're remotely fond of, often in physical appearance. I can't say I don't let them get the best of me at times myself, but at least I recognize it.

 

I don't think you can. Personally, I don't believe in the, "you don't love them, it's just your hormones playing up" or the, "it's only high school romance". People say high school relationships never last, but they can. Just because you're a teenager doesn't mean it can't be real love.

In my experience, I knew I've loved someone when;

-I can't stop thinking about them
-I get nervous infront of them, or am shy
-My heart starts pounding
-I like them for their personality too, and don't just want them for eye candy.

..etc.

Hormones only start when you're a teenager, and I've felt like that before I entered mine.

 

I have friends who blame it on their hormones and they hate it.
My parents dated when my mom was my age and they are still married...
So when people say it doesn't last...true, a vast majority doesn't, but some do.

 

Hormones rule! I mean, one day this girl is butt ugly and the next day she's hot!

It makes life worth living to see all those beauitful women around you.

I'm assuming he was referring to her developing hips, a defined bust, etc.

Well I think that I'm in love with this boy at school. Is love real ? Actully nobody knows , Love is real or fake at times .

Everytime I get near the boy I like, my body feels warm and my heart feels warm too , I laugh at the boy's jokes all the time and his personality is good.

I think he likes me too , well , everytime we pass at school he looks down at me and I look up at him and it's like time has paused .

 

I guess my opinion changes. Like, you see them in a new light y'know? Then it changes everything.

But there's still this one girl...

It's understandable that there's ONE girl that stands out overall.
There isn't for me, yet...I got my eyes set on one person.

 

Well you all managed to ruin my day. I hate talking about love relationships or human interaction and I hate thinking about it but I just wanted to say something (I'm a hypocrite.)
Okay that wasn't it, I wanted to say I'm "antisocial" and one may not understand me as I act like a total idiot half the time just 'cause it's easier if people just look at you as a joke honestly. At least then you can fly under the radar and people disregard you. It's easier but yeah I see the whole hormones thing all the time and love, I don't know the meaning of the word. Oh well just felt like it now I'm done. See.

 

This is something not everyone can give a straight answer to. It is something that you feel comfortable with, plus the way that lust has been defined to me is "physical attraction" and if you feel more a mental bond then a physical one....then you got it. And there isn't just one person for everyone, it is what you make out of people. And how you make relationships grow.

 

I know this isn't the thread for a short love story, but it's the best way to sum up my beliefs.

I've liked this girl since 7th grade (just finished Sophomore year(I think it's considered 2nd Year in England?)... or should I say INFATUATED with. Of course, we've known each other all our lives, since our parents went to school together, and she lives 2 houses down from me. I see just about everyday, since she's active. However, knowing her all my life, I have no problem talking to or being close to her. She knows that I love her, but she sees me more like a big brother (well, it's a step). To tell the truth, I have no idea WHY I love her! It's just... SOMETHING about her is just... WOW. Of course, having a nice set of [CENSORED by 4Kids] is extra brownie points.

Unfortunately, my brother also likes her, but he's a major [CENSORED]hole who failed 8th grade.

So, yes, I believe that true love DOES exist, but is hard to find. As for high school dramas, I really don't thank that they're long-lasting except for a few.

 

im not sure, love i think can always be real its just hard to tell how strong the love really is, if that makes sense. my first gf i think i only went out with her because she said she really liked me and then i started to like her. this turned into two years (i think) of awkward silences and rare visits to the cinema, we eventually broke up mutually early this year.
things like infatuation and lust can hurt as they usually develop without you eer even talking to the person, and when you finally talk to them they arent the kind of person you thought they were. im almost sure that hormones are responsible for infatuation and lust, which can stop you seeing others who you actually feel something real for.

 

I think love is a very strong word. And someone mentioned that they didn't believe in one true love. I agree and disagree at the same time. I think there IS one person (maybe even more) who you're meant to be with, but I believe you can love plenty more.

Let's try to think about the difference between like and love too. I mean, there are many forms of "like" as well. Such as limerance. That can feel a great deal about love.

I'm always afraid to say I'm in love in case I'm not..

 

If you can imagining them pooping and still want to have an intimate relationship, it's love.

 

You'll know when you love someone, you'll just feel a big attraction to them,not only by thier looks but by their personality and much more.

 

Basically, I think love can be broken down to this:
Love and Hormone induced love.
Love has a sub category of "True Love" lie Sora and Kairi and "false love" I don't know an example for that...but here is one that's NOT KH-Related: Brad and Jennifer Aniston.

 

I think you just sorta have to go for it and see if it works. If you really love them, then it will be there for a long time. If its hormones, It will go away
