Go ahead and tell your opinion here. I actually thought that all the countries were falling into misery due to the economics and racism, but I was wrong. Now after seeing this, I would like to go to Denmark, being the happiest country.

    I believe it's 4/10.

Gas prices, starvation, global warming, war, pollution, and more. This is causing more problems than ever like hurricanes and floods.

    6.9/10

Yea gas prices are high, religions are at one another's throats, and we're walking a fine line off of WWIII, but people (espescially in America) still buy things and go places they can't afford to buy/go to. And while the debt may go up, their initial happiness is pretty high.

    I completely agree.
Nowadays aren't exactly the happiest times.
Now that I see we're ranked the 16th happiest nation, I'm starting to feel a little sad :(

    Norway is the happiest? lol
Actually those natural disasters are entirely based on this time period's weather cycle. Just thought I'd mention that.

Denmark does have a rather free society and I can believe they'd top at #1. I can also see why the U.S. is ranked where it is. I do kind of find it funny that baby boomers though are so miserable when they are mostly what's helped get this country where it is now, on the 'wrong track'.

I do wonder if they bothered to poll areas though where there is more violence etc. I can also see why Zimbabwe is the worst for happiness. Those people are really miserable and after seeing a British journalist's investigation of there in depth, which he had to do a lot in secrecy, there's no question in my mind those people are suffering. There are a lot of bad things going on in the world, but at the same time I do agree that people are mostly happiest when they have more personal freedoms but also feel safer too. It lets people have the ability to enjoy life and get out more. This was an interesting report.

I'd like to see a list of the countries ranging from 1st to 195th in terms of happiness.

I don't think it factors in things like antidepressants and the list is likely just 1st world countries with a few 3rd world ones to even out the list and to make it look better.

Also teens in Denmark have a history of killing themselves due to boredom. How is that happy?

Are you kidding? I don't know where in the U.S. you live, but my friends and I are just as happy as ever. Sure, times aren't at their best, but most people I know are able to carry on and still enjoy life. I don't live in a rich neighborhood, I live in middle-class Long Island, New York. A pretty average suburban community, and most people I see are just fine with their lives despite the problems we face.
