    Which one do you prefer?

Also give a reason why you prefer one over the other (if you can).

I like Rock better, but I like rap a little. Not to much rap, since most of it is basicly a rip off of anouther song. Old rap was good, but now adays, it sucks. Name 5 rappers that can play a guitar, or the drums, or ect. CUZ I SURE AS HELL KNOW THAT I DON'T ENJOY LISTENEN TO SOME POSER, SING ABOUT HOW HE WANTS HE GIRL TO GET DIRTY AN DO STUFF TO HIS LOLIPOP. IT IS JUST PLAIN WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Rock speaks the truth though. (system of a down for example)

Lol. I critisize rap more then I praise rock, so can someone else fill in my position of why rock is so much better then rap?

    sure
i mainly rock because it has very interisting guitar riffs mixed with a bass and a nice drum beat
and then there's the vocals which can be fast slow harmonic or aggressive can't say which of them i prefer
there's a great team spirit there

    unlike in (most) rap
which where is just a vocalist and a person who makes effect etc.
i don't think that would make an interesting live show <.<
you can correct me if i'm wrobng about that rap shows are really good

well i have a live Red hot chilli peppers dvd
and if there's a better live show then that then wow
    'cause that's clearly awesome x3

Edit: oh yeah lots of rappers are posers <.< i know there's exceptions
i like a few rapers but rapers like the german "bushido" pretty much ruined the image of rep :/
there you go ghetto is this enough or do you expect another 23483465783347539 pages ?

A lot of you're comments are wrong and really quite ignorant. Tell me what rap is a rip off of another song? And I've seen a few pictures of wayne playing guitar and he's the same guy who made Lollipop and he also made a song called shoot me down. I honestly think you should listen to it. And how is singing about sex being a poser or just plain wrong? Sex sells and he's doing what he must to get his ratings. And there are many rappers out there who can play instruments, but thier music doesnt require it. I myself can play guitar and piano, and I know another friend of mine who raps all the time and can play the piano like a god. And I remember at an awards show in 07 there was a rapper on stage playing guitar. I honestly think more rappers speak the truth, just not the mainstream rap you hear. If you want the whole truth, then dig for it.

I see what you mean, but really anyone can say either type of preformance is boring. But I really think you should look up a video of a live Kanye West preformance. His concerts are really amazing compared to some other rappers, IMO

    okay
kanye west sounds good i love a few of his songs =D
he's my favorite american rapper <.<
i think i prefer rock performances because of how they play or moce while playing their guitar/bass
or how they move while singing (which is what rappers can do also)
    i can provide a link to an epic performance xD;

Rock, without a doubt. I can't stand rap. Now, rock and rap combined isn't too bad. I like the way Thousand Foot Krutch does it. They rap and rock at the same time on their cd "Phenomenon", which is my favorite by them.

I like both rap and rock though I would have to say I like more rock songs and artists so I went with rock. Rap though is cool and some songs I can connect with pretty well.

I don't know why anyone would say rap songs are a rip off other songs. Some artists have taken tracks of other music to put their lyrics to but the majority of these people asked permission and it is just like a song remake. Some come out extremely well and add flavor to some old songs. Both rap and rock tend to sing songs that can be very imaginative and head trippy while other songs can be really down to earth that anyone could relate to. I love both genres and it was actually a tough choice.
